JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions of the College, including record-keeping activities, grant accounting, and independently performing difficult analysis. Perform advanced professional work in the preparation and submission of the annual budgets of the College as well as for the related entities of the College; the Faculty Student Association (FSA), and the TC3 Foundation. The work will be performed under general supervision in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures, allowing for the exercise of independent judgment in planning and carrying out the details of the work.
This position is within the Professional Administrators Union. Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to New York State at time of employment. Additionally, maintaining New York State residency will be required for the duration of employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field and at least 3 years' experience in accounting.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s in Business Administration or a Certified Public Accountant license and Governmental Accounting experience are preferred.
EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE: $53,581-$80,371 Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a College employee, this appointment includes NYS retirement benefit options with a choice of a pension or generous employer match to a 414 retirement plan, attractive Health Care options with 80% of premiums covered by the College, post-retirement health insurance and supportive work-life balance with 16 holidays, 20 vacation and 12 sick days per year along with tuition assistance and ability of application to Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) in addition to other benefits offered by the College. St. Lawrence University invites applications for a Staff Accountant. Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will apply accounting principles to complete daily, monthly, and yearly accounting tasks to support the Business Office in producing accurate and complete financial reports.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Prepare, process and analysis of monthly and year-end accounting entries for assigned areas of responsibility such as auxiliary operations, foreign programs, fixed assets.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts (deferred gifts, clearing accounts, inventory, liability, deferred revenues etc.); create and post accounting entries as required.
- Administer non-student accounts receivable or loans receivable including billing and collection functions.
- Provide backup for payroll manager during vacation or other absence periods.
- Review agency account balances. Perform analysis on overspent accounts and communicate with departmental staff to bring the accounts into balance.
- Work collaboratively with other departments across campus to ensure GAAP Compliance.
- Prepare annual IRS tax reporting statements (e.g. 1042s, 1098 mortgage interest statement) and be knowledgeable of reporting rules to ensure compliance.
- Assist in the fiscal year-end close process and related audit workpaper preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This is an on-site position in Canton, N.Y. with the potential for hybrid/remote flexibility. The salary range is $62,000 - $65,000 annually.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and 2 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of general accepted accounting principles.
- Excel proficiency.
- Must be able to maintain discretion when working with highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptions to these minimum qualifications may be made for candidates with unique credentials, which may include those listed under the “preferred qualifications”.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in higher education and/or non-profits.
- Knowledge of payroll policies and basic understanding of state and federal employment laws.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and decision making within assigned authority.
- Strong prioritization skills to consistently meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to use financial systems and information.
- Strong proficiency of Microsoft software, particularly Excel.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Faculty Student Association of Tompkins Cortland Community College invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Fast Pitch Softball Coach. This is a part-time, 10 month position to be filled immediately. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a highly competitive non-scholarship program. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, management and development of all aspects of the softball program including recruiting, fund-raising, conducting practice sessions and contests and maintaining compliance with all NJCAA Division III regulations. A demonstrated commitment to high academic standards as well as healthy lifestyles for student-athletes is mandatory.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have at least two years of softball coaching experience. This position has non-standard hours and requires the ability to travel with a substantial time commitment during the spring. This position is subject to a criminal background check.
HIRING SALARY: $3000.00

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Arthur Kuckes Childcare Center kitchen assistant will be responsible for the daily meals and dishes. Prepares breakfast, lunch, and snack each day. Follows CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) food guidelines when cooking and portioning out daily meals as well as record all meals each day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any food service work experience and experience with children. Willing to participate in CACFP training. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Current certification in First Aid and CPR required. If a candidate does not possess certification at the time of employment, the incumbent must obtain this certification within three months of the date of appointment. The incumbent must maintain valid certification for the duration of employment. High school diploma.
