As a Community Service Provider, you will provide home and community-based services to help children with emotional and mental health challenges. You will travel locally to work with children and families in their communities providing a core of rehabilitative services to ensure success, including non-licensed counseling and support for youth and family, skill building, peer support, caregiver support and advocacy, pre-vocational services and respite. You will report to a Community Service Provider Supervisor, and work onsite within the community, as travel is required and documentation may be completed remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Provide services within a Family-driven Care framework, including respecting family choice and voice, believing in each family’s potential to learn and grow, and utilizing strategies that empower families
• Work with family members to identify goals and objectives of treatment
• Provide services based on the needs as identified in the Treatment Plan
• Coordinate with the child and caregiver on the scheduling and provision of services
• Participate in relevant treatment meetings and attend all required trainings
• Complete all documentation

Requirements and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least two years of related experience OR
• Master's degree in Social Work, counseling, psych, or a related human service and at least one year of related experience
• Valid NYS Driver's License required

Early Head Start Teacher Aide - Substitute

Available shifts - Monday - Friday between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm - no weekends

As an Early Head Start Teacher Aide-substitute , you will work with Teachers in the management of Early Head Start classrooms by providing quality infant-toddler care in accordance with Agency philosophy, program performance standards and curriculum guidelines. You will report to an Early Head Start Enrollment Specialist & Supervising Teacher and you will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Use daily routines and observations to meet the strengths and needs of children.
• Work as a team member to facilitate the programs curriculum, procedures and philosophy.
• Help establish a safe environment and a positive emotional tone that is supportive of the individual childs feelings by interacting with them in a supportive way.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere to encourage and facilitate ongoing parent participation and involvement.
• Participate in staff training according to program staff training plan and policies.
• Report any suspected injuries immediately to classroom staff.
• Interact positively with and provide choices to children throughout the day.
• Assist in classroom cleanup and follow universal precautions daily.
• Assist children in safely exiting from Center during fire drills and any hazardous situations.
• Adhere to agency and program standards regarding child and families confidentiality and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Requirements and Education:

• High school diploma
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill with infants and toddlers preferred
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds or more.
• Must be available between 7am and 5 pm

POSITION OVERVIEW

Lifeguard – Albany , NY

Starting rate is $22 per hour!Ideal seasonal position with flexible schedule from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. Daytime and early evening hours on weekdays and/or weekends.

The Parsons and Northeast residential programs are seeking full-time and part-timeLifeguards to work out of either our Albany or Schenectady campus (applicants may choose their preferred location). Our Lifeguards provide rescue and lifesaving services, teach water safety and swim instruction to children and adolescents in program during the summer months, and help maintain our pools for optimal health and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and maintain order in the swimming pool area to prevent accidents
• Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning, administering first aid as needed
• Inspect the swimming facilities at the beginning and end of each shift for cleanliness; monitor and record the chlorine content and pH level of the water
• Provide students with ongoing swimming instruction based on ability level
• Hold students and staff accountable to the rules of the pool area and report any concerns with adherence of these rules to a Residential Supervisor
• Work as needed in other areas of the recreational department during inclement weather
  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires an Advance Life Saving certificate or equivalent (must be a certified Lifeguard)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Experience working with children and adolescents and the ability to understand the basics of the therapeutic environment preferred

ABOUT NORTHERN RIVERS

As a library media specialist, you will develop a library program for all students and staff in the building as an essential part of the school community. You will understand the needs of students at the elementary level (developmental and academic) and have a passionate and tireless commitment to ensuring that all students learn. You will develop relationships with colleagues and the community. You will report to the Director of Curriculum, Instruction,
and CSE and will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Implement technology and act as tech support in our buildings.
• Maintain the library for distribution/circulation of materials, coordination of services, and instruction for building staff and students.
• Understand how the library supports/maintains growth in student achievement and tireless commitment to that effort.
• Maintain knowledge of differentiating for a variety of learning needs (both adult learners and child learners).
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the learning standards, especially in the area of complex texts and close reading.
• Teach essential skills such as: Microsoft office programs, database research, internet research skills, source evaluation tools, library catalog search and resource retrieval, keyboarding, reading skills, literature/non-fiction appreciation.
• Facilitate student (and adult) access to information-rich resources for research
• Encourage students to explore the world around them through print and online resources
• Be a teacher resource through collaboration on Next Generation aligned curriculum.
• Maintain knowledge of enrichment education research using the learning standards (Technology & Innovation in Education)
