As the Behavior Support Classroom Specialist, you will ensure the safety of the students in the Alternative Programming Room. You will coordinate clinical, academic, and restorative efforts for students in APR. You will report to the Dean of Students and will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily schedule for Alternative Programming Room with teaching staff, classroom staff, and clinicians.
• Coordinate Restorative Practices efforts with the administrative team
• Communicate with leadership team regarding incidents and interventions.
• Support and correct behavior support staff interactions and interventions with students.
• Ensure that APR support staff follow school and agency procedures while working with students.
• Coordinate with treatment teams and families regarding behavioral concerns that are affecting the milieu and academic programming.
• Help design and implement treatment services for children in collaboration with students, educators, administrators, and clinicians.
• Assist and educate staff with implementation of crisis intervention work, conflict resolution, and mediation strategies throughout the school.
• Be a school liaison with residential staff to ensure consistency of care and support of students across programs.
• Participate in implementation of PBIS Tier II and Tier III student plans.
• Collaborate with all members of the school and clinical treatment team to ensure ongoing communication and consistency of interventions and treatment for students.
• Ensure that all reporting forms are completed and returned to the appropriate source.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student information observing agency, state, and federal regulators.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Maintain TCI Training

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 7+ years of experience required

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing care and services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral and physical needs using the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing,planning, implementing, and evaluating). You will report to the Nursing Manager and you will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Complete the nursing assessment, evaluation and treatment plan of care for the physical and behavioral/emotional health of the residents
• Case management of outside provider visits (medical and dental) including annual assessments
• Review lab and test results, reporting critical values to providers
• Medication management including ordering medications and obtaining prior authorizations
• Dispense medications; report/discuss observed side effects or other concerns with consulting psychiatrist
• Provide client and family education regarding medications and treatments\
• Collaborate with our staff regarding concerns and behaviors
• Communicate with medical director/providers regarding changes in client’s health/behavior
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Medication Review meetings
• Nursing and medical documentation using EHR
• Provide training to residential counselor staff regarding reporting/recording of observedbehaviors and possible side effects relating to medications
• Update discharge planning needs
• Participate when assigned in agency committees
• Other duties as assigned within scope of practice and based on agency needs

Requirements and Education:

• RN Licensed in New York State
• CPR Certification required.
• Registered Nurse 1-2 years’ experience preferred
• Experience working with youth and adolescent population desired
• Must pass physical.
• Must be able to complete TCI training.

Teacher Aide

Sign On Bonus - $1,500(paid in 2 parts 1/2 at 30 days and 1/2 at a year) (full time only qualify)

Available shifts - Monday - Friday between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm - no weekends

As a Teacher Aide, you will assist the classroom teacher in all aspects of behavior management and supporting students success in school. You will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.
• Monitor student behavior and help maintain discipline in the classroom; record behavior data as requested; assist with crisis prevention; assist with de-escalation techniques with students.
• Help implement behavior plans (BIP); record behavior data; and the completion of incident reports when requested.
• Monitor, supervise and assist students during non-instructional periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. lunch, recess/breaks, bus loading/unloading, playground, classroom, washroom, field trips, transportation, assemblies) to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Help implement classroom PBIS universal components and Tier 2 and Tier 3 strategies for selected students.
• Attend meetings, training, professional learning sessions (e.g. first aid, TCI, CPR, emergency procedures, behavior management) to enhance professional skills and competencies.
• Perform clerical duties; maintain records of student progress; develop and file incident reports; maintain student files; check daily attendance; make copies; develop classroom displays and instructional material; maintain and operate computers, smartboards and other classroom equipment.
• Collaborate with teacher and other staff to incorporate information provided by parents, doctors, nurses, therapists and others to understand the needs of and provide services for students.
• Always monitor safety and well-being of students; monitor student attitudes and encourage positive behavior and interactions with peers.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by the teacher and principal

• Ability to work with students who demonstrate serious emotional and behavioral challenges, ages 6-21

As a Family Peer Advocate, you will help children with emotional and mental health challenges through support and advocacy with parents and caregivers. You will report to the Program Manager, Community Solutions and Peer Support and you will work onsite with travel required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support, advocacy and resources to the family based on the child's needs as identified by the parent/caregiver
• Provide services within a Family-driven Care framework, including respecting family choice and voice, believing in each family’s potential to learn and grow, and utilizing strategies that empower families
• Work with family members to identify goals and objectives of treatment
• Educate parents/caregivers on how to advocate if services are not meeting their needs
• Participate in relevant treatment meetings and attend all required trainings
• Complete all documentation

Requirements and Education:

• Family Peers have identified lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver of a child with mental health/behavioral health/special education challenges.
• Provisional Family Peer Credential required, with Professional Family Peer Credential to be obtained within 18 months.
• Minimum of HS Diploma or equivalency.
• Valid NYS Driver's License required
