POSITION OVERVIEW
Residential Assistant Supervisor -
Albany residential has an immediate need for a full-time ResidentialAssistant Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising direct care staff as well as working as part of the direct care team who collectively provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and regulation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervising program activity as related to client treatment plans
- Supervision and evaluation of direct care staff
- Working as part of staff-to-youth ratio and on-call system, mentoring and training staff
- Assisting in crisis intervention as needs
- Other administrative tasks related to running the unit
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Requires an Associate’s degree plus 3 years of experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred, OR high school plus at least 5 years of experience
- Related experience with vulnerable populations/older adolescent population is required
- Must have supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to manage a residential unit
- Must have valid, clean driver’s license
- Ability to work variable shifts required including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Summary | The Department of Communication and Media in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track, open-rank faculty position in Public Communication beginning in August 2024. |
Minimum Qualifications | Ph.D., E.D., or foreign degree equivalent in Communication, Media, Rhetoric, or closely related field is required, as well as evidence of effective teaching, and the ability to demonstrate, through accomplishment, promise of academic, scholarly and/or research achievement. Job Summary | The Department of Science & Technology Studies (STS) in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks a tenure track/tenured Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor specializing in Community Engagement and Community-Based Research and whose research and teaching is grounded in Science and Technology Studies (STS). The successful candidate will extend the STS research portfolio in the areas of public understanding of science, citizen science, community-based participatory research, participatory action research, participatory design, and/or public engagement in science and technology policymaking. They will teach required courses for the majors in Science, Technology, and Society; Design, Innovation and Society; and Sustainability Studies, as well as the PhD program in Science and Technology Studies. The position is 40% teaching, 40% research, 20% service. |
Minimum Qualifications | Applicants must have a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Science and Technology Studies or a related field, such as Sociology, Anthropology, Design Studies, Geography, or Media Studies. Applicants must have knowledge of, commitment to, and expertise in community engagement and community-based research. Candidates must also be able to present evidence of effective teaching, and have the ability to demonstrate, through accomplishment, promise of academic, scholarly and/or research achievement. We seek a scholar who will contribute to the STS Department’s broader commitments to socially engaged STS and design of alternative futures. STS features a wide range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary researchers, including historians, sociologists, anthropologists, political scientists, and media studies scholars. Scholarship that takes into account perspectives from marginalized communities and pedagogical practice that values diversity and inclusivity will be prioritized. Job Summary | Endowed Constellation Faculty in Future Chips at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute We are especially interested in candidates who have a demonstrated ability to perform high impact research in semiconductor technology to address the next generation challenges in computing. Areas of focus are rooted in fundamental science and engineering that drive advances in microelectronics, such as heterogeneous integration, advanced logic, advanced packaging, and power electronics. Physics of materials is also important to making these advances and is, therefore, an area of interest. The ideal candidates are expected to develop an internationally recognized, externally funded, scientific program in chip technology for the future of computing. The Future Chips Constellation will be a key stakeholder in the Center for Materials, Devices, and Integrated Systems (cMDIS) which houses the Microscale and Nanoscale Cleanroom and the Nanoscale Characterization Core. POSITION OVERVIEW
School Based Clinician
The School Based Clinician is responsible for providing clinical services to youth and their families according to program and regulatory guidelines, ensuring that all services are strengths-based, individualized, and comprehensive according to need.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide clinical services to youth and their families as assigned.
- Participate in the integrated service planning process for all youths enrolled.
- Ensure all service plans are strengths-based, individualized, and comprehensive according to need.
- Monitor the effectiveness of integrated service plans and review.
- Ensure all service are coordinated with other service providers.
- Access supports in the School or in the community as indicated.
- Assist families as needed in accessing assessments and recommendations for psychotropic medication.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a Masters degree, MSW or equivalent.
- Experience, training, or education commensurate with working with children with serious and persistent emotional disturbance is desired.
- Experience with working in a school environment is preferred.
- Must be licensed prior to starting, or have an active limited permit. LMSW, LCSW, or LCSW-R preferred.
- Required to pass licensing exam within six months of employment if working with a limited permit.
- Drivers license is required.

Lecturer of Biomedical Engineering Position at Union College
The Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at Union College invites applications for a Lecturer of Biomedical Engineering position, beginning Fall 2024. The position is renewable with a contract period of three years. After six years of employment at Union, Lecturers are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer with the possibility of contract lengths up to five years. A Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates expecting to complete their doctoral thesis before September 2024 are also welcome to apply. Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $81,000 - $84,000. Job Summary | The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, is amid a planned multi-year renewal of its faculty and mission. As part of this renewal, we seek applications for the Frank and Lillian Gilbreth Endowed Chaired and Tenured Full Professorship in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rensselaer. Director of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time.
Supervisor: Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Campus Living & Learning
Position Purpose: Oversees the community standards process and educates campus stakeholders on the values and expectations for living, working, and learning in the Union College community. Responsible for the administration and development of the Union College Code of Student Conduct. Manages institutional risk when processing student conduct cases, conducts training and outreach, provides consultation on student conduct issues, and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Carries out the mission of Union College and the Division of Student Affairs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Student Accountability: Oversees all matters related to the functioning of the non-academic campus conduct system, the maintenance of conduct records, and the management of the contracted conduct system from Maxient. Investigates and ensures timely resolution of all reports of student conduct violations (e.g., interviews; investigations; gathering and assessing evidence; interim support measures; hearings; referrals; preparing confidential reports containing findings; record-keeping; etc.). Receives, processes, investigates, monitors, and reports on bias incident reports involving students. Engages effectively with students in developmentally and educationally focused conversations to address and resolve student conduct matters. Compiles and analyzes data from Maxient and other sources to propose and support initiatives in conduct management. Provides support as needed for Title IX case management, referrals, investigations and hearing boards.
- Conflict Resolution: Offers, where appropriate, alternative forms of dispute resolution. Oversees the provision of conflict resolution services -- including mediation, conflict coaching, restorative practices, and facilitated dialogue -- to students upon request (e.g., meeting with complaining parties and using independent judgment to offer conflict resolution and problem-solving alternatives, when appropriate and applicable).
- Programming: Collaborates with divisional and institutional partners to create and assess an educational programming plan to target key areas of student behavioral concerns, including alcohol use, drug use, sexual misconduct, interpersonal conflict, and safety education. Educates students about their rights and responsibilities through active and passive programming. Monitors student compliance with online education requirements related to Title IX, alcohol & other drugs, and student behavior.
- Staff Development: Uses a distributive model for conduct cases and trains various campus judicial officers. Monitors, trains, and updates judicial officers on all relevant topics, strategies, and techniques in student conduct. Recruits, trains and advises the Student Conduct Committee, Organizational Misconduct Committee, Judicial Hearing Board, and other boards as assigned.
- Student Health and Safety: Monitors students for signs of academic difficulties and/or with other behavioral and developmental issues, intervening and referring to services as needed. Participates in regular professional staff on-call rotation, providing crisis intervention and serving as a resource or referral agent. Participates in Crisis Assessment and Risk Evaluation (CARE) team meetings and provides culturally responsive support to students.
- Administration: Manages the day-to-day functions of the Dean of Students Office, including email response and supervision of the work-study program. Updates and maintains corresponding websites regularly, with proper archiving of code updates. Collaborates with Campus Safety to manage Clery Report requirements. Plans an annual budget in consultation with the assistant vice-president and finance office. Reconciles purchases in a timely fashion and oversees staff use of purchasing cards. Serves on college committees as assigned. Offers to pitch in to help colleagues during crunch times and overlapping deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or related field and 5-7 years of student affairs experience or equivalent, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and work experience. Knowledge of residential liberal arts college administration is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a thorough understanding of current best practices in the fields of student accountability and an awareness of emerging issues in higher education, student conduct, community building, and student learning.
- Experience with leadership development programs and training, including demonstrated success with the development of educational programming related to risk management, hazing, student conduct, alcohol education, sexual assault prevention, and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB).

As an English /Language Arts Teacher, you will develop and implement the English/Language Arts classroom instructional plans for students. You will report to the principle and will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Provide subject area instruction (English/Language Arts) that follow the NYS K-12 English/Language Arts curricula and prepares students for exit examinations and statewide assessments.
- Develop and implement English/Language Arts instructional materials to provide individual and small group instruction to students of various ability levels. At the high school level develop lessons, teach, and prepare students for examinations in English/Language Arts.
- Develop and implement a classroom instructional plan with the Special Education Teacher that integrates the students IEP goals and objectives, learning style. as well as accommodations and modifications that are needed.
- Develop and implement with the Special Education Teacher, individual and classroom behavior plans for managing student behavior to maintain discipline in the Classroom; assist classroom staff with crisis prevention and intervention techniques; assist classroom with de-escalation techniques; teach students appropriate behavior strategies.
- Use the classroom PBIS universal plan and Tier 2 and 3 strategies for selected students.
- Manage and coordinate the safety and well-being of students through the use of established classroom and schoolwide processes and procedures; supervise classroom staff implementing these with their work with students throughout the building.
- Follow school and agency procedures and policies for reporting incidents. This includes behavior incident reports as well as incidents such as child/sexual abuse, substance abuse, harassment, bullying, and violence.
- Establish positive relationships with parents and family members to create a partnership around student treatment, student behavior, and academic progress.
- Participate in classroom grade level, and behavioral/treatment meetings as well as professional training and development sessions(e.g. TCI, CPR, emergency procedures and other agency requirements).
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.

As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) requirements for elementary aged children.. You will work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.

Assistant Athletic Trainer
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is a 12 month position.
Supervisor: Head Athletic Trainer/Student-Athlete Program Director
Position Purpose: Under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the athletic department by providing care to student-athletes including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Union College sponsors 26 intercollegiate sports, 24 in Division III, with Ice Hockey competing at Division I. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Treatment: Develop and implement injury prevention programs. Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary. Evaluate and diagnose athletic injuries. Design and monitor rehabilitation programs for injured student athletes. Provides therapeutic treatment such as taping, bracing, and modalities.
- Communication and Collaboration: Educate student athletes on care and prevention of athletic injuries. Provide guidance on proper conditioning techniques. Communicate effectively with coaches and student athletes about injury status and progress. Coordinates with physicians and healthcare providers as needed.
- Administration: Provides support with the daily operations of the athletic training room and assists with the supervision of work study students. Electronic medical record keeping of athletic injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field required. Master’s degree and experience with National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) regulations and compliance knowledge preferred.
- National Athletic Trainers Association certified and in good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic trainers.
- First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Automated External Defibrillator certifications required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to work in inclement weather.
- Physical requirements: Ability to engage in various physical activities, which may include lifting items of different weights of 25 pounds and more, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to travel when necessary.

Job Summary | The Director, Student Activities develops and directs comprehensive student involvement and activities programs that inspire school spirit, amplify the RPI student experience, and support the unique student-staff partnership that characterizes the operation of the Rensselaer Union. This includes employing best practices in facilitating student's personal and professional development, creating opportunities for developmental growth, strengthening student clubs (including student government and class councils), and contributing to student recruitment and retention in support of the enrollment, graduation, and student success of both undergraduate and graduate students. Advise student leaders and organization representatives in their development and execution of events, activities, and programs, including; financial planning, safety, and liability/risk compliance in collaboration with the office of risk management. |

Job Summary | The Technology Licensing Analyst in the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing (IPTL) plays a crucial role in the transfer of cutting-edge intellectual property (IP) from Rensselaer to the marketplace. Collaborating closely with the IP Manager and Licensing Associate, the Technology Licensing Analyst will be responsible for licensing and marketing IP, engaging with key stakeholders including researchers and startups, and managing the IP portfolio, including iEdison compliance. |
Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., law, business, science, engineering) Two (2) or more years in experience in technology transfer, patent law, or related areas Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered. |
