U.S. Salt, LLC is located on the shore of Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen, NY and has been in operation since 1893. Currently an industry leader in food grade and pharmaceutical salt production, U.S. Salt also has a strong presence in oil development, textiles and dyes, and water softener products. U.S. Salt is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Shipping Supervisor.
Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree (A.S.) with 5 years of related manufacturing experience in a supervisory role or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. The individual must be willing and flexible enough to work weekends and different shifts on occasion as well as have the ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
The Shipping Supervisor directly supervises union employees in accordance with company’s policies, applicable laws, and union contract language. This includes, but not limited to, training, planning, assigning, directing, disciplining, rewarding, and appraising assigned workforce. The successful candidate must ensure the compliance of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), BRC (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) regulations and procedures by holding the department/shift responsible for quality checks, documentation, and monitoring. Other duties include ensuring the effective operation of packaging, shipping and receiving areas to meet assigned goals as well as assisting shipping clerks and other personnel when needed to maintain consistent and efficient workflow.

Responsible for and has the authority to monitor various performance criteria for assigned areas and to initiate and manage technical programs and projects for improvements.
