What Will You Be Doing?
- Loading furniture orders onto truck and delivering product to customers; completing furniture assembly/ installation as per installation specifications to meet customer expectations; inspecting furniture for proper operability according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Installing all types of freestanding furniture and panel and modular systems; including placement, leveling, wipe-down, and touching-up of metal and wood furniture at customer location.
- Completing all required furniture service/repair paperwork.
- Removing all trash from jobsites and leaving them clean and wiped down.
- Following all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.
- Ensuring the overall cleanliness of the trucks and tools used by the department and being responsible for completion of annual DOT physical.
- Interacting daily with customers, other team members, and warehouse management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, or balance weight for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift, push, or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds. With mechanical assistance, the employee will occasionally move up to 300 pounds. The employee will regularly drive a delivery truck and must be able to enter and exit the truck throughout the day. The employee regularly operates warehouse equipment that requires manual dexterity and uses lightweight tools requiring some coordinated movements. Activities include using a forklift or pallet jack to move furniture; and lightweight tools to assemble, install or repair furniture.

Delivery routes are driven in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly operates lightweight tools. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Do You Have the Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities We’re Looking For?
- 2-5 years of furniture installation experience.
- Prior experience working with Steelcase furniture is preferred.
- Experience with hand truck/dolly type equipment and using hand/electrical tools to assemble furniture.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 100 lbs.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Ability to meet physical demands listed.
- Experience driving lightweight trucks preferred.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read construction blueprints and installation drawings.
- Demonstrated competence related to writing installation project and problem reports.
- Excellent customer service skills, conducting customer contact in a professional and courteous manner.
