🌄 A Day in the Life on Cannon's Drill Crew

You'll be the go-to for:

• Running badass rigs like Ditch Witch, Vermeer, American Auger
• Reading profiles like a boss and following through with high-precision bores
• Mastering TK, DCI, and magnetic locating tools
• Keeping the schedule tight, the worksite safe, and the client happy

🚧 Your Toolbox (aka What You Bring)

• 3+ years on HDD equipment or support gear (skid steers, vac trucks, crane trucks, etc.)
• Proven experience drilling in mixed soils & using the right mud mix
• Valid Class A CDL (tanker endorsement = bonus points)
• AT Drilling & walk-over locating know-how (grade bores = big win!)
• Great at troubleshooting, thinking critically, and owning your work
• Serious about safety-no shortcuts here
• Ready to travel, stay flexible, and jump in when needed

As a Horizontal Directional Drill Operator or Locator for Cannon, you are the driving force behind our success. To our customers, you are the face of our company and always make sure to represent the high standards we strive to achieve. Responsibilities:

• Drill Support Equipment Operations - Safely operates equipment on job site which may include but not limited to the following: Directional Drill, Backhoe / Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer, Crane Truck
• Maintain bore schedule for on-time project completion and customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up including any required restoration.
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment on truck as required.
• Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis - JSA prior to starting construction.
• Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers as required
• May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team.

Qualifications:

• Drill Operator - Must be experienced and proficient with drilling equipment and understand their capabilities and limitations. AT experience required!
• Must be experienced and proficient with walk-over locating systems including TK, DCI & Magnetics. Ability to locate grade bores a plus!

• Experience with drill set up and project design processes.
• Ability to read and understand bore profiles, HDD submittals & calculations, work orders, safety rules and operating instructions.
• Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools.
• Must have good troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Must be very safety conscientious.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's license required - with tanker endorsement a plus
• Must be willing to travel.

• Previous HDD construction experience required.
• Minimum (3) years of operating various types of heavy support equipment is preferred. Heavy support equipment is defined as: Backhoes, Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steers, Vacuum Equipment, Crane Trucks
• Minimum (3) years of operating or locating on various types of horizontal directional drilling equipment; Ditch Witch, Vermeer, American Auger, TK, DCI, Magnetics is required.
• Must be knowledgeable drilling in various soil conditions and mixing drill mud conducive to those conditions.
• MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST

Cascade Bridge, LLC is currently seeking experienced carpenters for multiple bridge construction projects in the Portland, OR metro area.

Cascade Bridge, LLC is a heavy-highway general contractor specializing in bridge construction primarily in Washington and Oregon. We offer comprehensive benefits to include medical, dental, and vision.

Compensation is per prevailing wage laws. Actual wage rates vary per project specifications. Many projects in the Portland metro area have a minimum current wage for Bridge/Highway Carpenter of $44.38 per hour plus $18.56 in fringe benefits (health insurance and retirement).

Carpenter Job Duties

• Measure, cut, and assemble lumber and plywood to be used for concrete forms
• Assemble prefabricated metal concrete forms and forming hardware
• Read, interpret, and build off of basic sketches, diagrams, specifications, and construction drawings
• Remove and repair reusable concrete forms and form materials

Carpenter Job Qualifications and Requirements

• Working knowledge of power tools and other related equipment
• Preferred 1-year experience in bridge carpentry/construction, however candidates possessing experience in any of the following related works will be considered; residential/commercial framing, residential/commercial concrete forming/placing, heavy-civil concrete construction: dams, spillways, wastewater facilities, fish hatcheries, pump stations, marine-based concrete work, etc.
