Geotechnical Consultants Inc. (GCI) is a 46-year-old civil engineering company specializing in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, field and construction services, special inspections, building envelope services, and steel testing.

We are seeking a full-time Geotechnical Field Representative in the Youngstown, OH area. This position will be responsible for assisting engineers on construction site locations to perform routine testing for project documentation. GCI is looking for individuals who enjoy working outside, ability to work independently, excellent client communication skills, “can do” attitude, willingness to learn new concepts, and ability to achieve needed testing certifications.

General Roles and Responsibilities:

· Provide technical support to the Project Manager through on-site inspections and testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.

· Perform computations and communicate results through field reports.

· Consistent communication with Project Mangers, client representatives, general contractors, and others to obtain project-appropriate objectives.

· Responsible for maintaining strict quality control and safety standards including cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

· Authority to reject and resolve conflict within scope of authority.

· Willingness to grow and achieve certifications as needed.

Desired Certifications (or ability to achieve):

· Concrete – ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1-2, NICET Level 1-3, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector.

· Soils – NICET Level 1-3, ICC Soils Special Inspector.

· Asphalt – NICET Level 1-3, ODOT Level 1-2.

· Masonry – ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector.

· Structural Steel – ICC Bolt & Weld Special Inspector, AWS Certification.

· ICC Fireproofing Special Inspector

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years' experience in a construction related job, or education related experience, preferred.
• Ability to pass drug test and general background check.
• Effective speaking and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
• Ability to travel up to 4 hours a day and walk/stand up to 8 hours a day.
• Desire to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to safely lift varying weights from 10-50 pounds, and safely traverse construction sites and project sites

The Warehouse Product Picker / Packer will have the following responsibilities:

• Perform general warehouse work approximately 5 to 6 hours per day, 4 days per week.  5 AM start time.  No weekends.  
• Receives products to maintain required inventory.
• Picks product to fill and verify orders.
• Counts products and helps to maintain warehouse inventory.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push and pull.  
• Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks within production and service time frames established by the Company
• Ability to lift and cary items eighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to use box cutter, hand trucks and pallet acks.
