PAY IS $25.00 PER HOUR – WEEKLY PAY
Job Summary:
The Community Response Officer will patrol and monitor an assigned area on bike and foot to report any suspicious activities to local authorities. The Community Response Officer will engage with area stakeholders, visitors, and residents to determine safety concerns and develop problem-solving strategies to effectively resolve these issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol properties, verify access, and monitor areas to maintain safety and security
- Provide a strong security presence to deter criminal activity, enforce client rules, and address unwanted behaviors
- Firmly and courteously request compliance from individuals violating client rules or committing crimes
- Monitor designated areas while identifying and addressing security concerns
- Respond to incidents, investigate disturbances, and report findings accurately and professionally
- Engage with the public and stakeholders to address security concerns and provide effective resolutions
- Create written, detailed, and accurate incident and property condition reports
- Provide accurate descriptions of persons, vehicles, and other identifiers to law enforcement when needed
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Excellent observational skills to identify security concerns and implement solutions
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on de-escalation
- Ability to speak, read, and write English; Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to articulate accurate descriptions of people, vehicles, and incidents
- Ability to create detailed, accurate, and professional written reports
- Maintain a positive and professional environment in compliance with all applicable laws and Block by Block standards
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Certifications in de-escalation, defensive tactics, baton, chemical irritant or pepper spray, crime prevention, surveillance systems, or FAA Part 107 drone pilot certification are beneficial
- Valid State Guard Card where applicable
Physical Abilities:
- Physical ability to capture and detain individuals if necessary
- Ability to patrol continuously on bike or foot during an eight-hour shift
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., twist, bend, and stoop occasionally
