Vice President of Nursing

Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Nursing and the Executive Vice President of Rhinebeck, the Vice President of Nursing has administrative and clinical responsibilities for all nursing units within the facility. Supervises the nursing staff, reviews nursing charting through monitoring ECR ‘CRNY Nursing Reports’, ensures ECR competency through training of all nursing staff, oversees nursing staff schedule, maintains interdepartmental communication, and works as an interdisciplinary team member. Updates policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory agencies. Responsible for storing and dispensing methadone and other controlled substances, hiring and terminating nursing staff in conjunction with Human Resources Department, and conducting nursing staff performance evaluations. The VP of Nursing will assume the OASAS title of Health Coordinator, and ensure the provisional education, risk reductions, counseling, and referral services to all patients regarding, HIV and AIDS, TB, Hepatitis, STD, and other communicable diseases. Performs all staff nurse duties when required.
- BA/BS or equivalent in education or experience
- Licensed by the State of New York as a Registered Nurse
- Certification in CPR.
- Five or more year's supervisory experience at a managerial level in healthcare
- Must be computer literate
- Prior experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
