Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President of Student Services (VPSS) and serving as a member of the President's Cabinet, the Associate Vice President (AVP) is tasked with implementing the strategic enrollment initiatives of the College. They will align services and revise policies and procedures to ensure each student's seamless transition from application through completion of the on-boarding process.

The AVP is a forward-thinking student services professional who appreciates the open access mission of community colleges and can design and deliver culturally responsive services to meet the needs of students of diverse backgrounds and ages and their families. They will expand the recruitment focus beyond high school applicants to include students transitioning from work force and certificate programs, ESL and HSE programs, and new and returning post traditional learners.

The AVP leads and supervises the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Advising, Testing, and Student Services Central and collaborates with Student Accounts and the Registrar to deliver holistic enrollment support. The AVP chairs the Enrollment Support Team and maintains close working relationships with colleagues in Academic Affairs, Communications, and IT to ensure that technology is fully utilized and strategic enrollment goals are met.

The AVP is familiar with regional and national enrollment trends, current research, best practices and mandates impacting financial aid and enrollment and comfortably uses data to monitor progress and assess programs and services. The AVP has a proven track record of success in launching and leading new initiatives, leveraging financial aid & scholarships to attract new audiences, and managing people in a changing environment.

As a senior member of the Division of Student Services, the AVP for Enrollment Management and Student Financial Services collaborates with the AVP for Student Engagement and Completion and the Vice President for Student Services to ensure operational integrity and exemplary services for students across all departments.


Requirements:

Education Required: Master's degree

Experience Required: Seven years of progressively responsible experience in one or more enrollment management fields in higher education. Supervisory experience. Familiarity with current enrollment practices and operations. Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated competency with report writing tools and data analytics; proficiency in the use of student information systems and CRMs.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

  • PhD/EdD or graduate coursework in Community College Leadership.
  • Five years of experience in higher education including administration of a student facing unit.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic enrollment initiatives at the program or department level.
  • Familiarity with the principles of the Guided Pathways movement
  • Appreciation of the specific needs of post-traditional learners
  • Active participation in professional organizations.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner Student or Financial Aid modules
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
