Associate Director of Career Success - Grant Funded
SUNY Orange is seeking an innovative and student-centered professional to join our dynamic team as the Associate Director of Career Success. This leadership role, housed within the Center for Student Success, plays a pivotal part in fulfilling our mission to empower students to achieve their academic and career aspirations.
The Associate Director will lead strategic career success initiatives, build and strengthen employer partnerships, and deliver programming that bridges students' academic experiences with professional opportunities. Work in close collaboration with the Executive Director of Workforce Development and Faculty on career focused programs and initiatives.
Evening and weekend work at both campuses and other sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national employers to identify workforce needs and secure job opportunities for students and alumni.

- Maintain Career section on the department webpage and ensure information is current.
- Maintain strong professional development engagement, including membership in NACE.
- Develop marketing and outreach strategies to promote career services and events to students, faculty and employers.
- Ensure job placement software is up-to-date and the job placement opportunities are current.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students' career development needs across the institution.
Job Requirements:
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree or higher.
Experience Required: Minimum three years of progressive experience in career services, employer relations, workforce development, or a related area. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain employer partnerships and organize large-scale events such as career fairs. Utilization of career services technology platforms.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:
- Two years' experience in vocational counseling, job/internship placement and/or career support in the education sector.
- Knowledgeable about the local and regional labor market.
- Familiar with career-related software.
- Certified as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator facilitator.
- Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all college employees and the public.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Beverage Manager in ensuring efficient, professional beverage service to guests and in the efficient purchasing, receiving, storing, and distribution elements of the department.

The Desk Clerk performs receptionist and customer service work helping to represent Mohonk Mountain House in the best way possible as they often serve as the guest’s first impression of the resort. The Desk Clerk is responsible for checking guests in/out of rooms graciously, efficiently, and accurately. They are responsible for processing charges and payments and demonstrating knowledge of billing and payment options. The ideal candidate would be courteous, self-motivated, friendly, and detail-oriented and provide accurate information about all resort amenities and services. Computer proficiency and the ability to effectively communicate via telephone, email, and in person are essential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Process guest check-ins using established resort procedures. Verify registration cards for the correct information and obtain guest signatures and any necessary paperwork.

Coordinator of Liberty Partnerships Program (Part-Time)
The Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) is a collaboration involving SUNY Orange, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District (NFA Main/North High Schools, Heritage/South Middle Schools) and the Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh.
As a New York State Education Department grant-funded initiative, the Liberty Partnerships Program is a comprehensive academic excellence program targeted at both urban and rural, middle and high school students. The program's purpose is to ensure that the youth of the Liberty Partnerships Program graduate from high school and enter post-secondary education and the workforce as highly competent and compassionate young adults.
SUNY Orange is currently seeking a part-time Coordinator to join the Liberty Partnerships Program. This part-time position will assist the Liberty Partnership Program Director with the implementation of programming and reporting for the Liberty Partnerships Program, which is comprised of an afterschool and summer program designed to increase high school graduation rates and promote college readiness. The Coordinator will also assist the Director in developing and fostering key partnerships within the local community that best serve students within the afterschool program and meet the requirements set forth in the grant. This position may work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours as need. Additionally, this position may be required to travel between campuses and to other program sites in Newburgh, NY as need.
Job Requirements:

- Responsible for the development and maintenance of external relationships for referral sources within the community including, but not limited to, realtors, builders and other affinity groups. Utilize various techniques including cold-calling, letter writing and group presentations. Attend functions relative to the position to build rapport within the community.
- Provide excellent member service by responding to and following up on customer inquiries and leads from all sources based on HVCU’s service agreement. Responsible for managing a flexible work schedule, which allows for meeting members and potential members, as well as, networking and other relevant events.
- Recommend Credit Union mortgage loan products to members that would best serve them, advising them of the risks and benefits of the loan alternatives, including options and variables involved.
- Maintain superior knowledge of the variety of mortgage loan products and services offered and attend meetings and training programs as required by the Credit Union in order to maintain this level of experience and knowledge.
- Collect and analyze member’s financial information and assess their financial circumstances to determine whether the member and the property qualify for a particular loan; this includes member’s income, assets, investments, debts, credit history as well as characteristics of the property and other pertinent information.
- Follow up with members as necessary to obtain required documentation. Provide assistance as required to the Processing and/or Underwriting areas in order to ensure a quality loan decision.
- Based on member need, identify opportunities for referral to other Credit Union products and services including, but not limited to, Hudson Valley Credit Union Insurance Services, HVCU Financial Services, HVCU Business Services and HVCU branch services.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
