ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A NO FRILLS CERTIFIED NURSING ASSITANT ( CNA ):
·Performs duties such as: activities of daily living- bathing, dressing, assistance in nutrition and hydration, locomotion/ambulation, feeding, incontinence care, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care, grooming such as: comb/brush hair, nail care, shave. Bowel and bladder assistance, maintenance rehab, proper understanding of least restrictive devise regulations, proper utilization of restraint devises, special care needs.
·Provide for residents with special needs related to their diagnosis (i.e. behavioral issues, splints, etc.)
·Reports all cases of alleged violations involving mistreatment, neglect or abuse including injuries of unknown sources.
·Documents resident care accurately and completely at point of care utilizing computerized medical record system.
·Notes resident changes of condition and reports same to LPN/RN.
·Answers call bells in a timely and polite manner.
·Assists in provision of post-mortem care.
·Performs vital signs as directed.
·Reports on duty, listens to and/or obtains report from Charge Nurse, receives assignment.
·Makes two hour and prn rounds on all residents.
·Keeps unit neat and clean; straightens nourishment station, clean and dirty utility room and other areas as assigned.
·Ensure the resident is out of bed, dressed and ready to participate in activities of choice.
·Provide assistance with ADLs during activities if necessary.
·Assist resident to participate in individual activities of choice, (i.e.: set up of equipment, positioning assistance, providing sufficient lighting and space).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF A NO FRILLS CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT ( CNA ):
·Requires movement throughout entire unit.
·Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
·Must be able to bend, lift, and transport equipment.
·Must be able to lift and turn and residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide complete care of each resident in his/her assignment as directed on care plans, following policy and procedures of Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
- Obtains shift to shift report from ongoing CNA.
- Transfers, ambulates, and transports residents as directed, using all safety measures as directed. Performs range of motion, restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
- Completes all grooming of each assigned resident, including hair, nails, etc., as required. Insures cleanliness of environment including bed, furniture, dressers, closets etc.
- Responsible for weights, feeding, documentation and reporting any changes to the charge nurse.
