We are seeking an entry level Environmental Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality environmental consulting services that align with our commitment to safety and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical document preparation.
- Prepare technical reports including Phase I and II ESA reports, and draft permits.
- Ability to work within the established project budget.
- Provide staff management .
- Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and prepare comprehensive Phase I ESA reports. Tasks include conducting environmental database searches, historical record reviews, owner interviews, and site reconnaissance activities.
- Clearly communicate the findings of Phase I ESAs and possibly recommend further investigation or action, as needed.
- Ability to work independently.
- Implement Phase II investigations, designed by senior staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/ArcGIS is a plus
- Team Player
Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in a science or engineering discipline.
- Experience with GIS and ArcGIS software
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Proficient in data analysis
- Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations (EPA & NYSDEC)
- Familiarity with public health principles is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independantly
- Strong communication skills
- Valid driver’s license

| Job Summary: | Entry level Public Safety opportunities available for service minded individuals interested in facilitating a safe and secure environment for the students, faculty, and staff who live, learn and work at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The Public Safety Officer I is responsible for the detection and prevention of crime, for the protection of persons, property and the general maintenance of peace, order and security; duties include patrol, crowd control, traffic control and dispatching. |
