Minimum Qualifications | Applicants must possess an MFA, PhD, or foreign equivalent in Game Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a closely related field. They will demonstrate proficiency in one or more game engines, along with a robust background in project management and production processes within the gaming industry. Additionally, candidates must exhibit a commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. A Professor of Practice has obtained unique professional experience, has distinguished research, and/or has performed at an executive or officer level, and has made a significant impact within the field of games. Job Summary | The Department of Cognitive Science in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute invites applicants for a non-tenure track position in the Psychological Science program starting in Fall 2024. Experience in undergraduate-level teaching is strongly preferred. Science Teacher - Neil Hellman School
**Sign On Bonus $5,000** (paid in 2 parts 1/2 at 30 days and1/2 at a year)
As a Science Teacher, you will develop and implement Science classroom instructional plans for students. You will provide subject area instruction (Science) that follow the NYS K-12 Science Curricula and prepare students for exit examinations and statewide assessments. You will report to the Assistant principal and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement science instructional materials to provide individual and small group instruction to students of various ability levels, and at the high school level develop, teach, and assess laboratory experiences for Earth Science, Living Environment, and/or Environmental Science.
- Develop and implement classroom instructional plans with the Special Education Teachers that integrates the student's IEP goals and objectives, learning styles, and accommodations and modifications that are needed.
- Work with the Special Education Teachers on individual and classroom behavior plans for managing student behavior to maintain discipline in the classroom.
- Use the classroom PBIS universal plan and Tier 2 and 3 strategies for selected students.
- Coordinate the safety and well-being of students through the use of established classroom and schoolwide processes and procedures; supervise classroom staff in implementing these with their work with students throughout the building.
- Follow school and agency procedures and policies for reporting incidents. This includes behavior incident reports (IR) and incidents such as child/sexual abuse, substance abuse, harassment, bullying, and violence.
- Establish relationships with parents and family members to create a partnership around student treatment, student behavior, and academic progress.
- Participate in classroom grade level, and behavior/treatment meetings and professional training and development sessions (e.g. TCI, CPR, emergency procedures and other agency requirements).
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.
- Provide leadership to assigned teacher assistants in the various clerical and non-instructional duties for your classroom.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or subject area (Master's Degree preferred), and the ability to work with students who demonstrate serous emotional and behavioral challenges, ages 6-21.
- A degree in science with enrollment in a program that leads to a teaching certification may be considered.
- Requires NYS certification in Science or a related field.

Custodian - Team Leader (Bilingual in Spanish)
Position purpose: Oversees the custodial staff and ensures that assigned campus facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Supervises custodian staff, performs cleaning duties, and maintains high standards of cleanliness. Coordinates work schedules, assigns tasks, and provides training to custodial team members. Provides translation needs for all Custodial teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership: Leads, supervises, and coordinates the activities of the custodial team to ensure all assigned tasks are completed. Assesses job performance of custodians for yearly evaluation. Prioritizes/schedules work to be done by custodians. Ensures custodians have completed their assigned tasks in each area.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Performs regular cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc. Utilizing cleaning equipment such as butler van, ride on scrubbers, and advanced cleaning equipment. Conducts regular inspections of all areas ensuring areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. Provides coverage for absent staff to maintain cleaning standards.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicates effectively with the Supervisor of Building Maintenance and other staff members about cleaning schedules, and needs. Resolves any custodian related concerns promptly. Pitches in to assist colleagues as needed.
- Operations: Monitors and manages inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Executes special cleaning tasks as requested, beyond routine daily cleaning duties. Stays informed about standards for the use, handling, and disposal of cleaning chemicals. Supports the work request system's administrative functions related to cleaning tasks.
- Administration: Processes monthly requests for cleaning supplies. Approves bi-weekly time sheets for all applicable custodians. Attends seminars and other courses of study designed to improve job performance. Complies with departmental and college policies and procedures. Schedules all vacation and absence time off for their team. Schedules appropriate staffing for major events such as ReUnion, Commencement, Trustees, etc.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of three years of custodial experience. A minimum of three years of supervisory experience within a custodial environment is preferred.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
- Thorough knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper handling, and disposal procedures.
- Must have a valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Physical requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, and bending, as well as the capability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.

The rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. Job Summary | The Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of Quantum Computing, Quantum Information, and Quantum Technology, with focus on the fundamental aspects or applications of quantum computation, scalability, and error correction on current and future quantum computing devices. Research areas can include but not limited to quantum entanglement, decoherence, and noise in quantum networks, with applications to quantum cryptography, quantum encryption, and secure quantum communications in noisy environments. Possible related areas would also include studying and exploiting the fundamental connections between Quantum Monte Carlo and Quantum Computing, simulating quantum field theory and many-body theory with a quantum computer (in particular, simulating systems with a “sign” problem), quantum communication networks, exotic quantum dynamics, quantum sensing protocols, exotic quantum phases of matter, and theory on the nature of information at the quantum level. With the anticipated of arrival of the IBM Quantum System One on our campus, this hire will have access to explore and implement some of these challenging problems. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operations: Meets the electrical needs of the campus community by performing work requests, emergencies, and special set-ups for faculty, staff and students. Works with various departments in order to achieve common goals and desires. Duties include: Ballast/driver, switch/receptacle, and breaker/feeder replacements.
- Maintenance: Performs and maintains functionality of equipment and systems, including: emergency lighting, switchgear, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, transformers, and battery back-up systems. Conducts monthly preventive maintenance in order to minimize equipment downtime.
- Projects: Plans and lays out work accordingly with knowledge and understanding of reading blueprints. Contributes to team projects consisting of lighting retrofits, additional circuitry, Electrical vehicle (EV) charger installations, and feeder upgrades.
- Trouble-Shooting: Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes. Identifies and diagnoses electrical issues. Collaborates with team members on finding the best approach while leading to set an example. Reads and interprets one-line diagrams in order to diagnose failures, and develops new skills through hands-on training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, two-year technical trade school, or apprenticeship program, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Five years as a Journeyman Electrician, experience in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
- Valid Commercial Electrician’s License, preferably in Schenectady, Albany, or Troy.
- Available for round-the-clock emergency response both on and off campus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe software.
- Knowledge of medium voltage three phase systems (13.2KV), WYE/DELTA and low voltage systems (24, 120, 208, 277, and 480v).
- Must have a valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, diagnose motor and motor control failures, and capacity to grow and develop skills through hands-on training.

Job Summary | The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a tenure-track (or tenured) faculty position at the Associate Professor level in Business Analytics/Supply Chain Management starting Fall 2024. Candidates must have a PhD degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated evidence to produce original and innovative scholarly work with publications in premier business journals. The successful candidate will join the School either as a tenure-track assistant professor, or as an associate professor, based on teaching and research experience and success. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate degree programs in supply chain and business analytics, as well as provide service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer. The position requires excellence in research in the area of supply chain and analytics, effective written communication skills, and strong technical skills in areas such as analytical modeling, data management, machine learning and computation. Job Summary | The Department of Biological Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor levels. We seek passionate and innovative individuals with demonstrated potential to establish a strong externally funded research program and contribute to the teaching mission of the department. The Institute for Data Exploration and Applications (IDEA) enables an opportunity to partner with faculty that are at the forefront of biological data analytics, enabling the modeling and simulation power to advance the quantitative and systems biology approaches that are widely employed in the department. IDEA and the Center for Computational Innovation provide collaborative opportunities to use the fastest supercomputer found at a private university. Directly responsible for providing non-clinical services to individuals with mental health needs who reside in Saratoga County. This is an in person role, in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Facilitate the Peer Run Social Club.
- Provide coverage for Saratoga County Warm line as needed.
- Provide training and teach skills needed to navigate mental health services in Saratoga County to identified clients.
- Promotes socialization, recovery, self-sufficiency, development of natural supports as well as coping skills and goal setting for those individuals with mental health issues.
- Act as an advocate by assisting individuals with housing issues, medical concerns, therapy or medication related problems, employment goals, and basic budgeting skills.
- Assist with benefits counseling.
- Engage participants in shared decision making around services and recovery planning.
- Function as part of a participant’s treatment to ensure integrated, collaborative care.
- Assist participants with the identification of activities that promote a sense of prosocial community engagement.
- Participate in regularly scheduled supervisions.
- Complete daily case notes.
- Complete all required agency trainings as well as trainings and certifications set forth by the New York State Office of Mental Health.
- Must possess strong interpersonal boundaries.
- High School or GED required.
- At least two years’ experience with the Mental Health system in Saratoga County.
- Per regulatory requirements, must have life experience with mental health and/or recovery from
- substance abuse.
- Peer Empowerment Credential required for Adult HCBS.

Job Summary | The Department of Science & Technology Studies (STS) in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks a tenure track/tenured Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor specializing in Community Engagement and Community-Based Research and whose research and teaching is grounded in Science and Technology Studies (STS). The successful candidate will extend the STS research portfolio in the areas of public understanding of science, citizen science, community-based participatory research, participatory action research, participatory design, and/or public engagement in science and technology policymaking. They will teach required courses for the majors in Science, Technology, and Society; Design, Innovation and Society; and Sustainability Studies, as well as the PhD program in Science and Technology Studies. The position is 40% teaching, 40% research, 20% service. |
Minimum Qualifications | Applicants must have a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Science and Technology Studies or a related field, such as Sociology, Anthropology, Design Studies, Geography, or Media Studies. Applicants must have knowledge of, commitment to, and expertise in community engagement and community-based research. Candidates must also be able to present evidence of effective teaching, and have the ability to demonstrate, through accomplishment, promise of academic, scholarly and/or research achievement. We seek a scholar who will contribute to the STS Department’s broader commitments to socially engaged STS and design of alternative futures. STS features a wide range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary researchers, including historians, sociologists, anthropologists, political scientists, and media studies scholars. Job Summary | Endowed Constellation Faculty in Future Chips at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute We are especially interested in candidates who have a demonstrated ability to perform high impact research in semiconductor technology to address the next generation challenges in computing. Areas of focus are rooted in fundamental science and engineering that drive advances in microelectronics, such as heterogeneous integration, advanced logic, advanced packaging, and power electronics. Physics of materials is also important to making these advances and is, therefore, an area of interest. The ideal candidates are expected to develop an internationally recognized, externally funded, scientific program in chip technology for the future of computing. The Future Chips Constellation will be a key stakeholder in the Center for Materials, Devices, and Integrated Systems (cMDIS) which houses the Microscale and Nanoscale Cleanroom and the Nanoscale Characterization Core. Who we are | Why Rensselaer? Job Summary | The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering (ECSE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY invites applications for multiple tenured/tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels. The ECSE department is in a period of multi-year growth. We seek individuals with demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching, combining innovative methods and compelling applications. We welcome candidates with research interests in semiconductor technology, next-generation computing including quantum computing, networking and security, energy and power systems, and robotics and artificial intelligence. Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop and maintain a robust and externally sponsored research program, and participate in activities that strengthen the department, the School, Rensselaer, and the broader professional community. New faculty will complement and augment ECSE strengths in AI/ML, microelectronics, computer system design, control, robotics, communication, networking, and power systems. New faculty can also participate in Institute-wide research initiatives, including in Chips (chips.rpi.edu), Data, the Future of Computing Institute, the Institute for Energy, the Built Environment, and Smart Systems, Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine, and centers including Center for Materials, Devices, and Integrated Systems, Center for Future Energy Systems, and Center for Mobility and Vertical Lift. |
