Position Purpose: Supports the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities in maintaining and managing the operations of athletic facilities at the College. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Cleaning: Daily cleaning of restrooms, locker rooms, windows, lobby and spectator areas, includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal. Seasonal duties include snow shoveling and snow blowing.
Event and Program Support: Attends events at the ice rink and other college facilities to assist in various duties for scheduled programming.
Collaboration: Partners with the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities to complete maintenance, organize and execute events within any of our athletic facilities, and ensure safety protocols are followed. Pitches in to assist colleagues as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one to two years of experience in grounds, custodial, and/or maintenance and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to be impartial and establish rapport with a diverse range of campus community members.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and walk up and down stairs for extended periods of time required.
Ability to operate standard housekeeping equipment.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

We are seeking a candidate whose research area explores the interaction between biological systems and the environment as it relates to epidemiology and/or public health. Potential subjects of study include, but are not limited to: host-vector biology, microbiomes, evolution and transmission of infectious agents, genetic epidemiology, and environmental influences on pathogenesis. Candidates using combinations of field-based, wet-lab, genomics, and/or computational approaches are highly preferred. The Department of Biological Sciences at Union College is committed to teaching and mentoring students in the classroom and in our active research laboratories. We contribute to numerous interdisciplinary programs including Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Science and Policy, Environmental Engineering, and Nanoscience (https://www.union.edu/interdisciplinary-studies). Union College (Schenectady, NY) invites applications for a 1-year visiting position in French and Francophone Studies in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, beginning September 2026. Ph.D. must be in hand or near completion by September 1, 2026. We seek a colleague with demonstrated excellence at all levels of language instruction (native or near-native fluency in French is required) and potential to teach upper-level Courses in French and/or translation courses that contribute to the College’s interdisciplinary programs (which include Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies, Film Studies, Africana Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies). We are interested in teaching that makes use of linguistic and cultural materials related to multiple aspects of the French and Francophone worlds, and we also invite candidacies related to digital, public, and experimental humanities. A Ph.D in chemistry or a closely related field is required; ABD applicants will be considered if there is a clear indication that all degree requirements will be complete before the start of employment. About the Department of Chemistry:
The Department of Chemistry comprises thirteen permanent faculty members with support from an administrative assistant and a laboratory specialist. One faculty member also serves as the Department’s dedicated instrumentation specialist. Annually, about 20 students graduate with a degree in chemistry or biochemistry, and about 40% of the students on campus take introductory chemistry courses during their time at Union. Our department has a strong collegial culture. We frequently collaborate to develop innovative approaches to undergraduate education in both teaching and scholarship. We have offices and research spaces in several connected science and engineering buildings, and maintain an exceptional suite of advanced instrumentation in support of research and teaching.

The Spanish and Hispanic Studies Department is seeking a Lecturer who specializes in Community-Based Pedagogies, preferably with expertise in U.S. Latino, Caribbean, Central American, or Mexican cultures. Candidates must hold a PhD in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Latin American Studies, Latino Studies, or a related field. Candidates with PhD in hand will be prioritized. Candidates who will defend their dissertation by August 2026 will be considered. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish required. English language proficiency must be sufficient to communicate effectively with campus and community partners.
Lecturer positions are renewable with a contract period of three years. Opportunities for promotion to Senior Lecturer (with renewable five-year contracts) occur after six years. Teaching load is six courses per year along with co-curricular responsibilities and the expectation of student advising, College service, and departmental service including curricular development, student engagement, placement advising, and recruitment activities.
Strong Spanish language teaching skills and experience at all levels required. We seek candidates who also have ample experience teaching and designing courses with community-based components and/or collaborating with community partners. Ability to contribute courses to 250-299, 300, and 400 levels that complement our current offerings is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise to develop courses in Spanish and English on U.S. Latino, Caribbean, Central American, or Mexican cultures. Co-curricular responsibilities will focus on liaising with Community Engagement and Outreach, the Career Center, other academic departments, and local organizations and businesses to build and coordinate a consistent program of offerings and real-world, career-adjacent opportunities that connect students and the department’s curriculum to local Spanish-speaking communities. We will look for evidence of candidates' interest in and ability to engage students in learning outside the classroom, including but not limited to diverse approaches to experiential or applied learning opportunities. The annual salary range for this position is $68,500-$70,500. Clinician, Families Work
Licensed Social Workers are eligible for a $7,500 retention bonus
As a Clinician in the Families Work program, you will provide six to nine months of intensive services to a caseload of ten families whose children are either at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. As a Children's Health Home Care Manager, you will engage youth and families through outreach activities until enrollment into the Children's Health Home program. You will coordinate and monitor subsequent services to meet the needs of your members. You will report to a program supervisor, working in a hybrid model. Work will involve a combination of remote, office, and community-based settings. Local travel and personal transportation is required.
Responsibilities:
- Level I - Provides care management services to children with low and medium acuities. Care Manager will provide the required one or two services each month based on acuity and need. One of these contacts is to be in-person with the member.
- Level II - Provides care management services to low, medium, and high acuity members. Care Manager will provide a minimum of two services each month, one of which is to be in person with the member.

The Program in Religious Studies at Union College seeks to make a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of Religion and Science. The appointee is expected to offer courses in religious studies, including in various aspects of religion and science, for the Religious Studies program, and also selected courses in philosophy for the Philosophy Department. It is also expected that the appointee’s teaching will support the General Education program (https://www.union.edu/general-education). There is an expectation that the appointee would support the work of the Templeton Institute at Union (https://www.union.edu/templeton) and take advantage of research and outreach opportunities afforded them there.
Applicants should have strong grounding in science and in religious studies, as well as hold a PhD in religious studies, philosophy, history, STEM, or other relevant field that interconnects science and the academic study of religion. Candidates who are ABD and will complete their degree by September, 2026 are welcome to apply. Demonstrated experience in teaching across science, philosophy and religion is highly valued, as is evidence of building institutional connections between religious studies and science. The Religious Studies program is particularly interested in candidates who work in the area of AI and spirituality. Position Title: Mailroom Supervisor

Position Purpose: The Mailroom Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Union College mail facility to ensure timely distribution of mail to the campus community, most notably students and the College’s academic units, in addition to providing a limited suite of mail services to students, faculty and staff.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervision: Oversee an employee team that includes student workers.
Operation of Equipment: Assist with the College’s in house copying operations on a limited basis, as necessary to meet the demands of students, faculty and staff.
Customer Service and Communication: The successful candidate will be a highly organized, deadline-oriented, and customer-focused individual capable of handling the logistics associated with a high-volume mail operation. Strong communication skills and prior employee supervision experience are essential.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience working in a mail facility, retail or other customer-service oriented setting
Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a three-year visiting faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. Area of specialization is less important than teaching and research excellence. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. A PhD in Psychology by the appointment date is required.
Our new colleague will offer 2 courses per trimester (a total of 6 courses per academic year) at a variety of levels, including content courses in their area of expertise. We expect that our new colleague will establish and maintain a dynamic research program that involves our undergraduate students.
