Description
As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) requirements for elementary aged children.. You will work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Provide for the physical and psychological needs of clients, including physical safety, hygiene, clothing, food, cooking, medical care, and providing a reliable and nurturing environment.
1:1 Residential Counselor
You will follow an individual youth’s 1:1 expectations plan, ICMP, and any safety plans in place.
Engage the youth in activities and conversation that are age appropriate and at the appropriate developmental level.
Document in writing a summary of each shift.
Learn the history and specific issues associated with the youth who requires 1:1; will learn how to safely manage any crisis.
Seek and obtain training in any particular area specific to the youth who requires 1:1care.
Transport 1:1 client for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
RC1
You will must be able to work within trauma informed framework of program, including identifying and using coping/safety plans, maintaining consistency, providing regular routine, and controlling own response to youth.
Engage and form positive relationship with all youth served.
Complete all mandatory trainings according to programmatic guidelines.
Display basic competency in TCI techniques.
Follow outlined program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.
Work as part of a team including colleague residential counselors, clinicians, on line oncall, supervisors, and other administrative and functional support staff.
Maintain respectful and appropriate communication with internal and external customers,including county workers, medical staff, parents etc.
Complete and maintain documentation to meet programmatic and regulatory standards.
Transport clients for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
RC2
All of the above plus the following:
You will facilitate groups/coached visitation, understanding and applying curriculum and appropriate practice models, i.e. DBT, SAY, etc.
Take on specific leadership responsibilities for dorm/cottage, including coordinating activities, participating in program-wide committee.
Must have the ability, skill, and knowledge to take a lead role in a team.
Form positive relationships with more challenging youth and families.
RC3
All of the above plus the following:
Display critical thinking and problem solving skills related to residential program needs.
Display good judgment and decision making related to all program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.
Lead, delegate, and plan work for other team members.
Requirements and Education:
HS Diploma/GED required.
Experience working with emotionally disturbed population.
A valid, clean driver's license is required.
Must pass physical.
Must be able to complete TCI training.

Experience with emotionally disturbed population is preferred.

At least six months of related experience is required with demonstrated competency in Level 1 essential job duties. One year of related experience is desired.
RC 3

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will be a member of the Mobile Team, assisting the clinicians on Mobile visits and providing support and advocacy to individuals in crisis. You will also be a resource to the clinicians and case manager, through sharing their knowledge of common challenges individuals with SPMI endure and sharing knowledge about community resources. You will be an individual (adult) with lived experience with mental illness. You will report to the Clinical Site Supervisor and you will work on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with service providers involved with individuals with SPMI.
- Provide information and peer to peer support to individuals who are served by the program.
- Educate and empower clients and their supports regarding their roles in developing crisis plans and in crisis prevention.
- Educate service providers regarding an individual's role in developing a crisis plan for themselves and in crisis prevention. Ensure that the individual is an integral part of the crisis planning process.
- Inform service providers (including Mobile Crisis and PCFC providers) regarding person- centered and strength-based practices. Maintain and model a focus on strengths.
- Utilize clinicians and clinical supervisor for advocacy for individuals served.
- Ensure that clients are satisfied with the services they are receiving and, if not, help them advocate for what they need.
- Educate individuals and primary caretakers on how to advocate if services are not meeting their needs.
- Be the liaison to other local supports in the community.
- Link individuals to Peer Support Services activities such as support groups, social events, newsletter.

Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Transition Coordinator, you will coordinate transition services and instruction to enable students to reach their fullest potential and be able to live, learn and earn in their community as an adult. You will report to the Program Manager and will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Work with NHS staff, Clinical staff, Parents/guardians, outside service providers and identified students to:
- Design a realistic discharge plan that is guided by each youth’s wishes, hopes and dreams
- Coordinate your client driven discharge planning process with local OCFS, OMH, and NYSED representatives that supports a client-driven plan which integrates housing, health and medical care, education and employment needs.
- Coordinate a set of vocational and transitional related activities including instruction, community experiences, employment and volunteer experiences, and the acquisition of daily living skills.
- Examine/identify post secondary vocational training options
- Respectfully honor each youth’s feelings about past and current relationships and ensure that when needed individuals will have the opportunity to work on issues of grief, loss and enduring relationships
- Complete a Permanency Pact and identify specific people who agree to offer life long supports (either related or not)
- Develop a Circle of Supportand identify specific people who agree to advocate for and support the student during the transition process
- Promote active involvement of identified students in planning and implementing the transition component of their IEP.
- Coordinate services to ensure that each identified student has an accurate Work Skills Employability Profile and earns a Regents Certificate of Work Readiness upon graduation from the Neil Hellman School
- Coordinate transition portfolios for each identified student.
- Provide 6 months of follow up and maintain post-NHS discharge statistics for each identified student.
- Attend and participate in all treatment reviews, case reviews and CSE meetings for identified student
- Complete all documentation in a thorough and timely manner

| Reporting to the Provost, the Dean is the chief academic officer for the School of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences (HASS). The Dean oversees and approves all academic programs and policies and is accountable for the advancement of both teaching and research initiatives. Additionally, the Dean is instrumental in recruiting, promoting, and nurturing a welcoming community of belonging and inclusion for students, faculty, staff, and professionals. The Dean ensures excellence across academic and research endeavors, engaging in strategic planning and managing administrative and financial matters. Job Summary | The Administrative Specialist serves as the primary point of contact in the Office of the President for visitors and callers and is responsible for ensuring that all parties receive prompt, professional and courteous attention when contacting the President’s Office. The Administrative Specialist may independently respond to inquiries, assist the visitor/caller on appropriate next steps, or direct to the appropriate person or department. In addition, the Specialist acts as the Building Coordinator for the Troy Building; is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the offices on the 3rd and 4th floors designated to the President; ensures that office supplies and equipment are inventoried and maintained; and ensures that electronic and paper records are filed and/or destroyed as appropriate. Additionally, the Administrative Specialist performs a full range of secretarial and administrative duties supporting the President’s staff. Representative Job Duties | Some of the duties for this position include: Lead regular meetings with individual fundraisers to review prospect data, identify opportunities to advance cultivation, assess performance on overall goals, and progress within individual prospect portfolios. Guide individual fundraisers and development staff by providing recommendations for potential major donors for cultivation and solicitation. Analyze data to help drive prospect discovery and prioritize the top prospective donors for qualification by development staff. Create lists on an ad-hoc basis as requested by prospect development team members or fundraising partner to support fundraising initiatives by incorporating the use of database segmentation analysis, external resources, electronic screenings, and peer-review/focus group results.
