Description
As a Peer Advocate, you will be an ally, mentor, and advocate for clients and families as they contend with the difficulties and uncertainties of mental illness. You will use lived experience to contribute to treatment planning for each participant, and facilitating the team’s development and maintenance of a culture of respect. The Youth Assertive Community Treatment team (ACT) Program is an innovative treatment program. The program serves children with mental illness or serious emotional disturbance and their families. You will report to the Director of Youth Act and work onsite with community-based travel required.
This new employee will be hired under the Youth Peer Advocate title or Family Peer Advocate title. The requirements are as follows:
Youth Peer Advocate:
- As this is a Youth Peer position, grant funding requires that employees hired in this capacity are within 18-30 years of age and have lived experiencewith mental illness or serious emotional disturbance.
- The FPA must possess a credential recognized by the Office of Mental Health and receive specialized training and supervision.
Family Peer Advocate:
- Family Peer Advocates (FPA) are parents or caregivers who are raising or have raised a child with serious mental health concerns and are personally familiar with the associated challenges and available community resources for children and families.
- The YPA must possess (or obtain within the first twelve months of employment,) a credential recognized by the Office of Mental Health and receive specialized training and supervision.
Peer Advocate Responsibilities:
• Engage individuals and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goals clients identify on their treatment plans
• Contribute to client treatment plans, advocating for clients' needs
• Participate in daily treatment team meetings and work directly with other team members to provide support and assistance to program participants.
• Provide individual face-to-face support to youth and families receiving services
• Spend 70% or more of scheduled work hours in community settings
• Meet with family, youth, and collateral contacts to provide psychoeducation about serious mental illness
• Be a role model, educate recipients about self-help techniques and self-help group processes, teach effective coping strategies based on personal experience, teach symptom management skills, assist in clarifying rehabilitation and recovery goals, and assist in the development of community support systems and networks.
Requirements and Education:
• High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
• A valid New York State driver’s license.
• Complete and obtain the NYCPS-Provisional certification for review by the New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB) within the agreed-upon time of start date.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Assists with coordinating travel for AOP/HEOP students, including purchasing tickets for flights, trains, and buses, as well as coordinating transportation services through Union’s transportation office.
- AOP Summer Program: In conjunction with other AOP staff, assist with coordination of the AOP Summer Program.
Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent and two to three years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting, or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and work experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment carrying out administrative duties.
Extensive computer skills, such as working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google docs).

Licensed Social Workers or Mental Health professionals are eligible for a $7500 signing bonus!
As a Clinician in the Families Work program, you will maintain a caseload of five families and meet with each weekly. Families Work provides six to nine months of intensive services to families whose children either are at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. Families Work also facilitates parent education groups using Incredible Years and Active Parenting curricula. Clinician, Family Treatment Court
As a Clinician, you will provide home and community-based clinical services with Schenectady Family Treatment Court participants and their family members to help preserve or reunite them in accordance with Northern Rivers Family of Service's stated purpose and mission of protecting children, preserving families and strengthening communities. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations within agreed upon timelines in-person or via Telehealth of parents and children whose cases are accepted into the Family Treatment Court.

- Participate in regular team meetings.
- Provide strategies to parents whose mental health issues create safety concerns for their children.

Leads an effort to review and revise policies in response to changes in regulations, guidance. Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in a related field such as human resources, law, social justice, or a relevant discipline and/or a Juris Doctorate, and a Minimum of three years of experience in equal opportunity compliance, Title IX administration, or a related field, preferably in a higher education or non profit organizational setting.
Extensive experience working on compliance with Title IX, Title VII, ADA, Age Discrimination, and Section 504 regulatory requirements.

Description
Per Diem Clinician,Permanency Resource Center
As a Per Diem Clinician, you will provide trauma-informed family therapy, child therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention as indicatedto individuals, families and groups in a Permanency Resource Center.This can include outpatient individual or family therapy, group therapy, consultation to caregivers, and support to case managers. Work is designed to be short-term but will follow the needs of the family as written in their service plan. You will be assigned between 2 and 15 cases. Therapy is to be provided in the community or in office, and is paid for by the program, not through insurance reimbursement. You will report to the Licensed Clinician and you will work in a hybrid model with community-based travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Provision of outpatient therapy remotely or in person with youth or caregivers within the Permanency Resource Center system.
- Document the contact within the Evolv system.
- Attend and participate in individual supervision on at least a monthly basis and more frequently if the acuity of the assigned cases requires this.
- Provide therapeutic services to individuals assigned to case load.
- Provide case management services as clinically indicated.
- Provide referral, collateral and linkage services.
- Record and maintain case records according to program standards.
Requirements and Education:
- A Master’s degree in one of the healing arts.
- A minimum of a limited permit in social work, family therapy, mental health counseling, or the healing arts.
- A valid NYS driver's license.

Description
As a per diem Preschool Teacher Aide - Substitute, you will work with teachers in the management of a preschool classroom by providing quality care to ages 3-5 following Agency philosophy, program performance standards and curriculum guidelines. You will report to the Preschool Supervising Teacher and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Use daily routines and observations to meet the strengths and needs of children
- Work as a team member to facilitate the programs curriculum, procedures and philosophy.
- Assist in the implementation of weekly program plans.
- Help establish a safe environment and a positive emotional tone that is supportive of the individual childs feelings by interacting with them in a supportive way.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere to encourage and facilitate ongoing parent participation and involvement.
- Participate in staff training according to program staff training plan and policies.
- Report any suspected injuries immediately to classroom staff.
