Responsibilities:

• Duties of the driver include a pre-trip inspection of the equipment to be used during the designated route

• Provide the dispatcher with trip information prior to the start of each trip

• Maintain the scheduled times and locations as posted for the Trolley Service

• Report all concerns of vehicle safety, including concerns of safety for the community being served, i.e. road hazards, sick or intoxicated students to the immediate supervisor from Campus Safety

• Report any incidents whether they appear minor or major to the driver

Qualifications:

• Drivers must possess and maintain a valid New State Commercial Driver's License, minimum class "B" with "P" endorsement.

• 2+ years of transportation driving experience

• Strong communications skills for working with a diverse group of college Faculty, Staff and Students.

• Drivers are subject to commercial driver’s license (CDL) standards.

• All drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing as mandated by citations “49 CFR 382” & “49 CFR 40”

The Spanish and Hispanic Studies Department is seeking a Lecturer who specializes in Community-Based Pedagogies, preferably with expertise in U.S. Latino, Caribbean, Central American, or Mexican cultures. Candidates must hold a PhD in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Latin American Studies, Latino Studies, or a related field. Candidates with PhD in hand will be prioritized. Lecturer positions are renewable with a contract period of three years. Opportunities for promotion to Senior Lecturer (with renewable five-year contracts) occur after six years. Strong Spanish language teaching skills and experience at all levels required. Union College invites applications for the position of Dona and Marshall Robinson Assistant Professor in Science, Philosophy and Religion, beginning September 1, 2026. The Program in Religious Studies at Union College seeks to make a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of Religion and Science. The appointee is expected to offer courses in religious studies, including in various aspects of religion and science, for the Religious Studies program, and also selected courses in philosophy for the Philosophy Department. It is also expected that the appointee’s teaching will support the General Education program (https://www.union.edu/general-education). There is an expectation that the appointee would support the work of the Templeton Institute at Union (https://www.union.edu/templeton) and take advantage of research and outreach opportunities afforded them there.

Applicants should have strong grounding in science and in religious studies, as well as hold a PhD in religious studies, philosophy, history, STEM, or other relevant field that interconnects science and the academic study of religion. Candidates who are ABD and will complete their degree by September, 2026 are welcome to apply. Demonstrated experience in teaching across science, philosophy and religion is highly valued, as is evidence of building institutional connections between religious studies and science. The Religious Studies program is particularly interested in candidates who work in the area of AI and spirituality. Teaching load is 2 courses per 10-week trimester, 6 courses per academic year, with a one-course reduction in the first year. About the Religious Studies Program:

Religious Studies at Union is an Interdisciplinary Program with two tenured faculty and it is further supported by colleagues who teach and research aspects of the academic study of religion in the departments of Anthropology, Art History, Classics, Economics, English, History, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, and Sociology. Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is$81,500-$83,500. The Mailroom Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Union College mail facility to ensure timely distribution of mail to the campus community, most notably students and the College’s academic units, in addition to providing a limited suite of mail services to students, faculty and staff.

Position Purpose: The Mailroom Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Union College mail facility to ensure timely distribution of mail to the campus community, most notably students and the College’s academic units, in addition to providing a limited suite of mail services to students, faculty and staff.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Supervision: Oversee an employee team that includes student workers.

• Operation of Equipment: Assist with the College’s in house copying operations on a limited basis, as necessary to meet the demands of students, faculty and staff.

• Customer Service and Communication: The successful candidate will be a highly organized, deadline-oriented, and customer-focused individual capable of handling the logistics associated with a high-volume mail operation. Strong communication skills and prior employee supervision experience are essential.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma; Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree a plus

• Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience working in a mail facility, retail or other customer-service oriented setting

• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

• Strong organizational skills and a basic understanding of logistics associated with managing a high-volume delivery and distribution operation

• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 70 lbs.

• Basic math skills; good reasoning/problem solving skills

• Experience with or ability to learn basic copying equipment operations a plus

• Work setting: Indoor, customer-facing with daily periods of high-volume activity

Union College invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology—Open Area, beginning September 1, 2026. The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a three-year visiting faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. Area of specialization is less important than teaching and research excellence. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. A PhD in Psychology by the appointment date is required.

Our new colleague will offer 2 courses per trimester (a total of 6 courses per academic year) at a variety of levels, including content courses in their area of expertise. An ability to teach statistics and/or introductory psychology is a plus. We also welcome a colleague with the ability to contribute to the College's General Education curriculum.

We expect that our new colleague will establish and maintain a dynamic research program that involves our undergraduate students. The college and department provide outstanding research support, including internal funding opportunities for both faculty and student research. Shared departmental resources include eye-tracking and electroencephalography (EEG) equipment. The college also maintains an active Faculty Development Program that provides mentorship and various other forms of support towards growing faculty teaching, scholarship, and leadership.

About the Psychology Department:

The Psychology department consists of 14 accomplished scholars at various career stages, with diverse research expertise. We teach small courses and work closely with students, who are active in our research laboratories. We have ample research facilities, institutional support for student research, and host a vibrant speaker series that supports research collaborations.
