Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a related field, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, or work experience.
Associate’s degree in a related field of study may be substituted for work experience.
Valid NYS drivers license.
Current New York State Security Guard registration certification required.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduates in the field of Civil Engineering. The CEE Department currently possesses expertise in the fields of geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water quality and hydrology. We are particularly interested in increasing our capacity in the field of Structural Engineering. The new hire will teach courses in the curriculum as appropriate, including core classes and upper-level courses such as the fundamental theory of structure, as well as electives. In addition, there is an expectation that all new hires in the Department will teach at least one course annually to non-engineers ideally as part of the College’s new Complex Questions/Global Challenges and Social Justice common curriculum. The new hire will also be heavily involved in the ABET accreditation process which includes opportunities for curriculum development and assessment.
The successful candidate will also have a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration. The CEE department has a close relationship with the Environmental Science, Policy, and Engineering Program. In addition, consistent with Union’s goal to break new ground with respect to integrating engineering fields with the liberal arts, we welcome applicants who are eager to explore joint programming possibilities with departments and programs in the humanities and social sciences, including with interdisciplinary programs.
All candidates must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering and expertise in the area of structural engineering; applicants close to finishing the Ph.D. will be considered. Successful candidates will demonstrate the potential to advance a research program at Union College that involves undergraduates. Preference will also be given to those who have a demonstrated interest in undergraduate teaching. Successful candidates will detail an interest, understanding, and commitment to the support and development of all students through education, research, and/or service. Professional licensure (P.E) in Civil Engineering is preferred but not required.
About the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department:
Union currently offers ABET-accredited degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering. The department of Civil and Environmental Engineering began offering B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering & Environmental Engineering during the 2023-2024 academic year and is actively working toward ABET accreditation. This project is part of a strategic initiative, supported by a historic gift, to both broaden Union’s engineering offerings and integrate the study of engineering and computer science with the liberal arts, inside and outside of the classroom, to benefit students across the College. Position description:
We seek socio-cultural candidates whose research addresses and who can teach courses on at least two of the following: gender, anthropology of religion (particularly Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism), linguistic anthropology, medical anthropology, anthropology of education, family and kinship, and anthropology of childhood. In terms of geographic expertise, preference will be given to candidates who work in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, South, East, or Southeast Asia or amongst indigenous people of Oceania or the Americas, but we will also consider other areas not currently represented by faculty in the department. Candidates with Ph.D. in anthropology in hand and teaching experience are preferred, but ABD candidates, as well as candidates in closely related fields are welcome to apply. Position description:
Our department is interested in welcoming candidates with a Ph.D. in geosciences or a closely-related field, who have the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching, and should be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community. Teaching responsibilities for the full-time, benefits-eligible visiting assistant professor appointment for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 academic years will include a mid-level sedimentology and stratigraphy course with lab, an introductory environmental geosciences course with labs, and possibly an additional course and lab depending on the candidate's area(s) of expertise. Position Title: Bursar

Supervisor: Controller
Position Purpose: The Bursar oversees the overall operations of student financial services, billing, receivables, and cashiering functions of the College. Provides direction and leadership in financial management, fiscal policies, and internal controls related to the Bursar’s function. Position description:
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduates in the field of Environmental Engineering. The CEE Department currently has expertise in the areas of water quality, soil and sediment remediation, risk assessment, hydrology, sustainable treatment, water and wastewater management, and contaminant fate and transport processes. We are looking to expand and diversify our areas of focus into areas associated with the broad topic of air (e.g., air quality, climate change, atmospheric interactions, air pollution management, environmental change and adaptation, aerosol-climate interactions, wildfire-atmosphere interactions, wind power meteorology, and/or climate engineering). Experience working directly with communities is a plus. The new hire will teach courses in the curriculum as appropriate, including core classes such as Thermofluids, Introduction to Environmental Engineering and/or Contaminant Fate and Transport, as well as the development and teaching of upper level environmental engineering electives in their area of expertise. In addition, there is an expectation that all new hires in the Department will teach at least one course annually to non-engineers ideally as part of the College’s new Complex Questions/Global Challenges and Social Justice common curriculum. The new hire will also be heavily involved in the ABET accreditation process which includes opportunities for curriculum development and assessment.
The successful candidate will also have a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. The CEE department has a close relationship with the Environmental Science, Policy, and Engineering Program. In addition, consistent with Union’s goal to break new ground with respect to integrating engineering fields with the liberal arts, we also welcome applicants who are eager to explore joint programming possibilities with departments and programs in the humanities and social sciences.

We seek socio-cultural candidates whose research addresses and who can teach courses on: environmental anthropology, economic anthropology, science and technology studies, public health, and/or indigeneity. The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Neuroscience. We expect that our new colleague will establish and maintain a vibrant Neuroscience research program that involves our undergraduate students. The College and department provide outstanding research support, including generous startup funds, pre- and post-tenure sabbaticals, and ongoing internal funding opportunities for both faculty and student research. Shared departmental resources include brand-new EEG and eye-tracking equipment that allow for simultaneous data acquisition. The College also maintains an active Faculty Development Institute that provides mentorship and various other forms of support towards growing faculty teaching, scholarship, and leadership.
About the Psychology Department:
The Psychology department consists of 14 accomplished scholars at various career stages, with diverse research expertise. We teach small courses and work closely with students, who are active in our research laboratories. We have ample research facilities, institutional support for student research, and host a vibrant speaker series that supports research collaborations. The department recognizes the rich possibilities of interdisciplinary studies and currently provides support for the Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies and Neuroscience programs.

Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $81,500- 83,500. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
