As a special education paraprofessional, you serve as a teacher assistant and work with students who have special needs. BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Under general supervision, maintain confidential special education records, track IEP and evaluation timelines, coordinate IEP (Individual Education Plan) and MDAT (Multidisciplinary Assessment Team) meetings, distribute completed progress reports, and provide administrative support to special education staff to ensure compliance with special education regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
A. Demonstrate strict standards of confidentiality
B. Maintain accurate and confidential special education records, databases, and files
C. Ensure compliance with special education regulations and timelines
D. Track and initiate IEP annual review timelines
E. Monitor evaluation due dates
F. Facilitate preparation of IEP documents at the building level
G. Coordinate scheduling of annual reviews with school teams and parents/guardians
H. Coordinate scheduling of Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (MDAT) meetings
I. Ensure timely communication through meeting notices and invitations
J. Distribute IEP progress monitoring reports to parents/guardians as specified in the IEP
K. Attend special education meetings for documentation purposes
L. Provide clerical support to special education teachers and related service providers
M. Perform other assigned duties as needed
