GL Accountant

Austin Engineering Co, Inc. specializes in a broad range of civil construction solutions, including site development, underground utilities, pump and lift stations, force mains, infrastructure, heavy/highway construction, and wastewater plant work. Role Description

We are seeking an experienced full-time GL Controller for our location in Lakeway, TX. As a GL Controller, you will oversee general ledger accounting, prepare accurate financial statements, maintain compliance with accounting policies, and ensure timely month-end and year-end closings. Responsibilities also include managing account reconciliations, maintaining the WIP schedule, streamlining financial reporting processes, and collaborating with various departments to support financial operations. This role is on-site and requires a proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial reporting

Proficiency in bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial documentation

Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and financial analysis tools

Experience with eCMS and or CGC Construction Management software with green screen knowledge a plus

Proven ability to ensure regulatory compliance and implement standardized accounting policies

Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus

Prior experience in the construction or infrastructure industry is strongly preferred

Strong interpersonal communication skills and a team-oriented approach to collaborative projects

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
