Job Title: Guide / Caretaker

What to Expect
The Guide Caretaker will report to the Stony Island Supervisors. This position is seasonal from April to mid-November.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee cleaning and maintenance of assigned guide boat
- Guiding fishing trips with up to 5 passengers
- Maintenance of grounds, vessels, facilities and equipment
- Safe transport of staff, guests, and supplies to and from Island by boat. (approx. 10-mile boat ride)
- Guiding guests and dogs, in a safe professional manner. Approximately 10 miles of walking per day for eight weeks.
- Staying overnight for maintenance and security purposes.
What You'll Bring (Required Qualifications)
- At Least 18 Years of Age
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High school diploma
- Valid Driver's License
- Working knowledge of vessels, trolling equipment, and firearms
What Makes You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- 5 plus years working on vessels in the Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario

Compensation

ASSISTANT CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
The Jefferson County Department of Code Enforcement is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a vacant, entry-level Assistant Code Enforcement Officer position. Primary responsibilities include conducting Lead-Based Paint Inspections and Dust Wipe Sampling in accordance with local regulations and EPA guidelines, as well as creating the reports, letters, and certificates associated with these inspections. Additional duties include administering and enforcing the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, as well as other laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the construction or alteration of buildings and structures.
