At the present time there is one (1) opening for an Airport Maintenance Mechanic within the Airport Department. This position is Grade 9 - Hiring step 1 (2026 rate of $23.28) Minimum qualifications include possession of a valid New York State Operator’s License appropriate for the vehicles operated. Two years of experience in one or more of the standard building trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. involving the operation of motor equipment; OR Three years of experience in building and grounds maintenance activities involving the operation of motor equipment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of above.

Position may be assigned day, evening, and overnight shifts. Scheduled workdays may include holidays and weekends. Overtime may be required for snow removal, fueling operations, and emergency conditions. Completion of Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting required within eight months of appointment.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

At the present time, there is One (1) opening for a Cleaner within the Airport Department. This position is Grade 2 - Hiring step 1 - 2026 at a rate of $18.68 per hr. Shifts may vary. This is routine and repetitive physical work involving the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and related tasks. Cleaning tasks are performed according to an established procedure. Work is performed under the supervision of an immediate supervisor. The incumbent does related work as required.

Working knowledge of common cleaning, disinfecting methods, materials and equipment; skill in the use of cleaners and maintenance equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to lift heavy objects and perform work requiring bending, climbing, reaching and repetitive motion; ability to get along well with others; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other physical tasks; willingness to be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and grime; dependability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. No minimum qualifications.
