Primary Function: counsel prospective commercial loan applicants regarding the specific commercial loan programs that are appropriate for their financial circumstances and assist them in completing the process of obtaining a commercial loan in accordance with Credit Union and regulatory guidelines. Covers Putnam, Westchester & Rockland territories.

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of internal and external relationships for referral sources within the community including, but not limited to, HVCU branches, realtors, attorneys, accountants and other affinity groups. Attend functions relative to the position to build rapport within the community.
  
• Respond to and follow up on customer inquiries and leads from all sources.
  
• Recommend Credit Union commercial loan products to members that would best serve them, advising them of the risks and benefits of the loan alternatives, including options and variables involved. Primary function: The Risk Mitgation Intern will work with the Risk team under the areas of Fraud and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

Hudson Valley Credit Union is hiring 10 interns for our High School Summer Internship Program. This program is designed to create an immersive experience for students who have a desire to gain working knowledge of the Credit Union industry, as well as exposure to general business operations. Through a combination of rotational assignments, classroom training and formalized feedback, participants will gain exposure to multiple operational areas within HVCU. 

Program Details:

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY

Assignment Length: July 9th - August 15th 2024

Schedule: Tues-Thurs; 8:30am - 5:00pm (24 hours per week)

• Participate in rotational assignments across various business units of HVCU to improve technical and analytical skills as well as, enhance professional competencies.
  
• Develop an understanding of HVCU’s product and service offerings; gain experience through direct observation and work assignments.
  
• Utilize a courteous, enthusiastic and open-minded approach to policies and procedures within the various departments.
  
• Maintain confidentiality of all HVCU proprietary information in accordance with internal policy and procedure.
  
• Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
