Assistant Men’s Ice Hockey Coach

Supervisor: Head Men’s Ice Hockey Coach
Position Purpose: Works closely with the head coach to develop and execute training programs, provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, and contribute to the overall success of the men’s ice hockey program.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Recruitment: Assists in recruiting and retaining top prospective student athletes who are fully engaged in the mission of Union College. Collaborates with the head coach and admissions department to arrange on-campus visits for all prospective student-athletes and their families. Ensures compliance with all recruitment policies and procedures.
- Coaching: Demonstrates effective teaching methods and exceptional leadership skills. Collaborates with the athletics trainer to prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of all participants. Conducts thorough analysis of practice and game film to inform strategic practice and game planning.
- Student-Athlete Development: Works proactively with campus stakeholders to ensure the academic success and development of student-athletes. Mentors student-athletes.
- Administration: Supports aspects designated by the head coach of the hockey program adhering to NCAA, league, and department compliance. Pitches in to assist colleagues as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of proven success in coaching ice hockey, with a demonstrated ability to recruit high-caliber student-athletes who contribute to the overall success of the program.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with experience using XOS software, is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as necessary for recruiting.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$95,000.00. Position Purpose: Utilizing a team approach, exercising sound judgment, and exemplifying a positive attitude, the Operations Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Residential Education (ResEd)& Housing Office, including Greek Leadership and Minerva Programs. Serves as the main receptionist and interacts with students, student staff, parents, and other campus constituencies daily. Identifies and articulates student needs and collaborates with appropriate residential staff to provide an effective institutional response. Keeps sensitive information private and confidential. Supports the Associate Director of Housing Operations with all operational tasks associated with the office. Carries out the mission of Union College and the Division of Student Affairs.
This position works on site and primarily in person. Additionally, this position may involve occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administration: Maintains a neat and orderly office environment, befitting a space used as a student resource center. Publishes and maintains an accurate directory of all ResEd staff. Coordinates and/or initiates calendar scheduling as requested; makes sure meeting attendees know the location or zoom link. Supports and implements logistics for ResEd programs and events (ex. catering, space reservations, set-up/tear down). Supports administrative processes such as move-in/out, residence transition periods, life & safety inspections, and roster verifications. Compensation
The rate for this position is $24.00 - $26.25 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Job Summary | The Assistant Director (AD) of Student Activities is responsible for planning, facilitating and assisting in the coordination of student club programs on campus. The incumbent will develop programs working with clubs and other campus departments focusing on diversity and inclusion, community involvement/engagement, student leadership and operations as an advocate for student clubs. The AD will work with the staff to develop opportunities for servant leadership growth and development. The AD will work in collaboration with Union/Mueller Center staff, campus colleagues, and student clubs to oversee the operation of the Clubhouse Pub under the guidance of the Director and Associate Director of Student Activities. Job Summary | The Program Administrator, Sr manages activities of the Center of Excellence in Digital Game Development at RPI, also known as the Digital Gaming Hub, administered through the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Program in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. The History Department at Union College invites applications for a one-year visiting appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor with an emphasis on US History. This position will begin in Fall 2024. Union College is a leading national liberal arts college deeply committed to undergraduate education.

VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ANTHROPOLOGY
Union College (Schenectady, New York) seeks applicants for a one-year visiting position at the assistant professor level. We seek socio-cultural candidates who can teach courses on environmental anthropology and who would also be able to offer courses in some of the following areas: indigeneity, environmental justice, economic anthropology, Science and Technology Studies, Religion and Environmentalism, anthropology of food, and global health. In terms of geographic expertise we are interested in someone who works in Sub Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia or amongst indigenous people of Oceania or the Americas. But we will consider other areas not currently represented by faculty in the department. Candidates with Ph.D. in hand and teaching experience are preferred, but these qualifications are not required. The successful candidate will teach six courses over three ten-week trimesters.

Director of Client Services
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is an 12-month position. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Supervisor: Chief Information Officer
Position Purpose:Manages the Client Services and Learning Environments team, handling both personnel and financial aspects. Leads support for students, faculty, and staff by evaluating technical issues and collaborating with ITS (Information Technology Services) peers to implement effective solutions. Directly oversees Tier 1 and Tier 2 Client Services teams (including ITS Help Desk and Learning Environments), managing training, staffing, and performance assessment. Additionally, responsible for the equipment lifecycle replacement workflow, encompassing standards definition, procurement, setup, and distribution.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Team Management and Leadership: Recruits, manages, trains, and mentors Client Services and Learning Environments teams. Evaluates team performance and develops and implements processes for improvement. Manages assigned ITS resources for implementation and support.
- Strategic Planning and Developments: Directs projects to analyze and recommend new technologies. Contributes to ITS management team for standards and policies development. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of complex computing environments and emerging technologies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Fosters knowledge-sharing and open communication within ITS groups. Communicates and collaborates with students, faculty, and staff, for technology solutions. Represents the college in conferences, seminars, and professional organizations related to user support and technology use. Provides oversight for training and user education programs.
- Equipment Procurement and Vendor Relations: Strategically plans and executes procurement for A/V, computer hardware, and peripherals, ensuring efficient acquisitions. Maintains vendor relationships, negotiating favorable terms and service agreements within budget constraints. Collaborates with stakeholders to identify needs, assess technology, and provide informed purchasing recommendations. Manages inventory, optimizing stock to support client services efficiently. Oversees evaluation of new products aligning with department goals and user needs.
- Event Support and Logistics: Works with the Assistant Director of Learning Environments to ensure responsive and high quality support for electronic classrooms and events being held on the Union College campus, including Zoom webinars. Provides oversight of work with departments to configure/install audio visual (AV) equipment needed in conference rooms or labs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration, and a minimum of 5 years of successful management experience in a service-oriented technology environment, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proficient in Windows and Apple client hardware and operating systems.
- Proven experience implementing performance metrics for operational analysis and decision-making purposes.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
- Demonstrated experience with IT service management, including overseeing a help desk ticketing system; experience with TeamDynamix preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills adaptable to diverse student, faculty, and staff clientele.
- Proven ability in strategic planning and organizational skills; experience in project management is a plus.

Compensation
The rate for this position is $15.00 - $16.00 per hour. Supervisor: Assistant Director of Advancement Information Services
Position Purpose: Provides support to the Advancement Information Services team by assisting with data entry, web searches, project support and various administrative tasks. Provides flexible support as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Locator Services: Conducts web searches to locate and update alumni information including addresses, phone numbers, employment details and graduate school information. Researches updates on corporate partners.
- Database Entry: Updates the database with the latest information from the locator service and other campus departments.
- Project Support: Utilizes Excel and Google Sheets to manage projects efficiently. Creates pivot tables as necessary to analyze and present data effectively. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose: Provides transportation of Union College students, staff and community members to and from College approved locations following safety protocols.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Safety Compliance: Conducts pre-trip inspections of equipment before each designated route. Reports concerns regarding vehicle safety, road hazards, and safety for the community being served i.e. road hazards, sick or intoxicated students to the immediate supervisor from Campus Safety. Complies with random drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Trip Management and Reporting: Provides trip information to the dispatcher before each trip. Maintains scheduled times and locations for the 'Trolley Service.' Reports all incidents, whether minor or major, to the immediate supervisor from Campus Safety.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of transportation driving experience.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication skills and ability to exercise exceptional judgment and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations.
