Excellent candidates in all areas of Computer Engineering will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds or research interests in cybersecurity, computer networks, and communications. A Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or a closely related field is required. We welcome applications from candidates traditionally underrepresented in Computer Engineering. Candidates close to completing their doctoral thesis at the start of employment are also welcome to apply.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in computer networks and digital communications, technical electives in the candidate’s areas of expertise, and supervision of senior capstone projects. Applicants with a strong background in collaborative undergraduate teaching and/or with interdisciplinary research interests that intersect with arts and humanities are strongly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have a deep commitment to undergraduate education while establishing and maintaining a high quality research program that involves undergraduate students. In 1845, Union College became the first liberal arts institution in the nation to offer a degree in engineering. We currently offer ABET-accredited degree programs in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, and new programs in Civil and Environmental engineering that will seek ABET accreditation. Our programs emphasize close student-faculty interaction with opportunities to study abroad, perform hands-on undergraduate research, and minor in disciplines ranging from theater and dance to history and economics.

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $93,000-$96,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Our new colleague will teach two courses each year (winter and spring trimesters; early January through mid-June), which are components of our year-longclinical sequence: Clinical Psychology 2: Interventions (with a lab), and Clinical Psychology 3: Internship. Clinical Psychology 2:Interventions covers theories of psychotherapy and communication, and with an experiential labsection. In Clinical Psychology 3: Internship, advanced students spend ten hours perweek at supervised internship sites in the community, and meet one class sectionper week for group supervision.
Many of our students are interested in pursuing careers in the helping professions, andcontinue on to masters, doctoral, or pre-med programs. There would also beopportunities to mentor clinically-bound students, to supervise senior thesis projects,and conduct one’s own independent research. Visiting faculty and their students areeligible for generous research grant funding offered by the college and conference travel funding. Completion of an APA-approved internship is required and applicants should be eitherlicensed or license-eligible in the state of New York.
