As a Early Head Start Teacher in Training, you will provide a safe, clean, and nurturing learning environment for children. You will report to an Early Head Start Supervising Teacher and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate classroom management skills, work as a part of a team, and complete records, reports, and data collection.
- Individualize curriculum based on each child's specific strengths and areas of need.
- Facilitate screenings and ongoing assessments for assigned children.
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
- Supervise and interact with children during family-style mealtimes and activities.
- Demonstrate respect for families' values, strengths, and culture by welcoming their contributions and participation, and designing learning experiences accordingly.
- Engage in training and learning opportunities, including those focused on learning and implementing curricula and classroom design and management.
- Follow fire drills, shelter-in-place, intruder, or any emergency procedures to safely assist children following protocols.
Requirements and Education:
- High school diploma or GED with at least one year of experience working directly with children or a Degree in a related field with at least 6 months working directly with children.
- Within 60 days of hire, you must be enrolled in a program leading to a CDA (Child Development Associate Credential), an Associates degree, or a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Position description:
The Department of Political Science is looking for a candidate (PhD preferred, though ABD candidates will be considered) with expertise in Comparative and/or International Politics and a specialty in Asian, sub-Saharan African, or Russian politics. This is a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position, with a January 1-December 31 appointment. The ability to offer the Introduction to Global Politics, our gateway course to the comparative and international fields, and upper-level courses in the politics of the aforementioned regions is crucial. Offering additional courses organized by theme (rather than region) would be a plus.
The normal teaching load at Union College is six courses across a trimester system (2-2-2). Visiting faculty are eligible for faculty travel and research grants and support. The political science department is an active and vibrant community of scholars, including researchers prominent in their respective fields. Position Purpose: Evaluates, appraises, describes, and preserves the College’s records and archives, including institutional records. Qualifications:
Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program with a minimum of two years professional experience in archives or records management and special collections or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and work experience.
Experience with college-wide records management programs, inclusive of physical and digital collections.
Experience in a special collections and archives setting with focus on accessioning, appraising, arranging, describing, and preserving archival collections and preparing finding aids of varying size and complexity.

Position description:
The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Neuroscience. We encourage applications from individuals with identities historically underrepresented in the sciences. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. Area of research specialization is less important than research that is programmatic and theoretically directed toward understanding the human brain. Areas of research that would complement our existing department include any using neuroscientific and/or computational neuroscientific approaches to study: sensation and perception; cognition broadly; memory; complex cognition; diversity; culture; social/emotional cognition; judgment and decision making; and/or neuroeconomics.
Ideally, our new colleague will offer courses at a variety of levels including including a combination of at least some of the following: introductory psychology, statistics, introductory neuroscience, lab courses in cognitive neuroscience and/or sensation and perception, as well as an upper-level neuroscience seminar within the applicant’s domain. Position description:
A Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field is required and postdoctoral experience is highly preferred. Successful candidates will have the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and research and should be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
Teaching responsibilities will be in introductory and organic chemistry courses and labs, with additional teaching responsibilities depending on area(s) of expertise. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the College’s interdisciplinary programs. The College has new and growing initiatives in environmental science and engineering and biomedical engineering; candidates contributing to one of these areas through work in Green Chemistry, Environmental Organic Chemistry, or Polymer Chemistry are especially welcome. About the Department of Chemistry:
The new hire will expand our department from twelve to thirteen permanent faculty members with support from one administrative assistant and one laboratory specialist. One faculty member also serves as the department’s dedicated instrumentation specialist. Annually, about 15-25 students graduate with a degree in chemistry or biochemistry, and about 11% of the students on campus take introductory chemistry courses. Our department has a strong collegial culture; we collaborate to continue to innovate and improve our approaches to teaching and scholarship in an undergraduate liberal arts with engineering setting. We have offices and research spaces in several science and engineering buildings, the most recent of which – the Integrated Science and Engineering Center – completed in 2020. Position Purpose: Coaches, manages, and develops a competitive Club Ice Hockey team (non-varsity, Upstate New York Collegiate Hockey League member). Maintains and demonstrates a positive, collaborative spirit to work with the team, and a passion for the sport.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Coaching:Demonstrates effective teaching methods and possesses excellent leadership. Designs coaching strategies and develops cohesive team mentality. Builds and maintains strong relationships with student athletes. Ensures the medical safety of all participants in collaboration with outside Athletic Trainers and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
Administration: Administers and plans, in collaboration with club student leaders, all aspects of the field hockey program adhering to Upstate New York Collegiate Hockey League (UNYCHL) and department compliance. Communicates injuries and reports incidents to the Student Activities department. Present at all on- and off-campus games during regular season(s), as well as twice-weekly practices (20 weeks total).
Qualifications:
Prior experience coaching and playing competitive hockey (preferably college-level) required. Current participation in recreational league (as coach or player) preferred.
Current status as a compliant USA Hockey coach with minimum Coaching Education Program completion or ability to obtain prior to the start of the season.
Working knowledge of UNYCHL bylaws and regulations or willingness to obtain.
Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with players
Physical requirements: Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.

Position Purpose: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of office spaces and common spaces across campus.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Cleaning and Maintenance: Removes office and building trash. Washes windows, cleans showers, bathrooms, and public areas using wet/dry mop, vacuum cleaner, cleaning cloths and cleaning solutions. Follows safety instructions/procedures related to clothing, gloves, goggles, masks and use of cleaning chemicals. Cleans, strips and waxes tile and floors. Shampoos and extracts carpeting. Maintains vacuums and other equipment by making simple adjustments such as installing new vacuum bags and mop heads, moving equipment from location to location as necessary. Removes snow from entryways and walkways.
Event Preparation Assistance: Assists with special events including but not limited to table and chair setup.
Additional Tasks: Pitches in to assist colleagues when needed.
Qualifications:
Physical requirements: Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
Must be safety conscious, able to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions and work with a diverse group of staff and students.
Ability to work on weekends may be required. During emergency situations will be required to work in the event of a personnel shortage.
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record for cleaning jobs that include weekends. Does not apply to part-time cleaning jobs.
