Computer Deployment Specialist (18 months) (2 positions)

Job Description:
Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University at Albany seeks applicants for a Computer Deployment Specialist to support a campus-wide project to replace all non-Windows 11 compatible computers by Fall 2025. This is a large project with a tight timeline. Faculty, staff, conference room, classroom, and research lab computers will be replaced.
The successful candidate will be assigned to the Field Support (FSG) Deployment Group, which will work as a specialized team to deploy all new computers quickly and efficiently. The FSG Deployment Group will support the preparation and deployment/installation of new computers, including installing software, setting up peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.), and removing and securely disposing of old computers. The FSG Deployment Group will deploy computers across three campus locations as appointments and rooms are scheduled with faculty and staff.
This position reports to the FSG Deployment Group Supervisor. The successful candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills, time management skills, and the ability to work effectively under challenging circumstances. They must also be able to complete work within scheduled time constraints. Working knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365 applications is required. The candidate must also be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
The successful candidate must be able to anticipate and support customers with a wide range of technological expertise. This work requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to follow pre-defined processes and workflows to ensure standardization, and the ability to balance both the technical and basic functional expectations of the position.
Primary responsibilities:
As a member of the FSG Deployment Group, follow and assist with pre-defined processes and workflows as assigned, including:
- Activities to support new computer deliveries and maintenance of storage and work areas.
- Configure computers and run OS deployment.
- Accurately update machine and person data in Active Directory and the appropriate inventory, reporting, project, and management tools.
- Prepare computers for daily delivery and deployment to designated offices, classrooms, conference rooms, or designated staging areas.
- Deploy and set up new computers in faculty and staff offices, conference rooms, classrooms, and research labs.
- Install titles from the Software Catalog or Software Portfolio on faculty or staff computers.
- Install peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.)-may require installing drivers or adding to a printer queue.
- Resolve or report for further action any remaining questions or issues as requested by a customer or noted during computer setup.
- Remove old computers by returning them to the designated location and prepare them for secure disposal.
- Complete work within scheduled time constraints and maintain a good working schedule that allows work and daily responsibilities to be completed as scheduled.
Other responsibilities, as assigned:
- Receive, assist, diagnose, document, and resolve incidents, service requests, or assigned project tasks in faculty/staff offices, classrooms, conference rooms, and research labs located across three campuses using a variety of modes of support (including conferencing tools, in person, or both) following all prescribed workflows and pre-defined processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University at Albany seeks applicants for a Central Business Office Associate, who is responsible for coordinating/processing several operational activities in the ITS department. The Central Business Office (CBO) serves as the hub for all ITS finance and operations. The CBO Associate is an essential member of the team and interacts with multiple departments across the university, including Accounting, Asset Management, Facilities, Human Resources, and Purchasing. The successful candidate enjoys a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and getting out of the office to visit various locations on campus for equipment deliveries and receiving/disposal of assets. Primary Responsibilities:
Software Licensing:
- Review and respond to software license requests from faculty/staff/students.
- Distribute licenses in accordance with University and ITS policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of software purchases, activation codes, distribution/assignment of software licenses, and chargebacks to departments.
Billing:
- Process monthly billing for ITS activities and track receipt of payments.
- Investigate any discrepancies in revenue.
Asset Management:
- Work collaboratively across ITS to ensure accurate asset management needs and processes are fulfilled in a timely matter.
- Ensure all purchases have the appropriate Asset Management forms/tags when received and disposed of.
- Record accurate information in the Asset Management database, including the addition and removal of assets.
Additional/Other Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with staff from ITS and other departments on campus to facilitate transactions for all Central Business Office activities.
- Serve as a backup for coverage of reception area.

Compensation

The primary responsibility of the POS Warehouse Associate is to receive, warehouse, distribute and manage POS materials, samples and will-calls. Help Merchandiser in the construction and installation of custom displays. Clean and organize POS warehouse, shop (area where custom displays are constructed) and rebate/shelf talker area.
Manage POS Materials
- Employee handles the receiving of all POS.
- Break down, divide, and organize POS.
- Put away all POS in its designated location of the warehouse.
- Continuously condense POS to make room for new POS.
- Discard expired POS as directed by supervisor.
- Update inventory of all POS on the Data Report and POS System (min 3 times per week)
- Distribute POS to sales reps and Managers or prepare for delivery to accounts as requested. (Place in cubbies or as directed)
- Manage rebates and shelf talkers. Clean and organize this section of the warehouse making sure expiration dates are clearly marked on rebate boxes and expired ones are discarded.
Manage Samples and Will-calls
- Receive and check in samples and will-calls from warehouse or transfer truck.
- Lock up all product in the designated secured area of the warehouse.
- Distribute to the sales reps and managers with proper documentation. (Printed name and signature from recipients as the sample policy states)
Merchandising Responsibilities
- Install both special displays and stock POS by working with merchandisers, customers, and sales management on the coordination of timing and location of displays.
- Daily monitoring of POS System to check for ordered displays awaiting installation.
- Input completed displays into the POS system in a timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations including company vans (maintenance) and work area.
Safety Protocol
- Perform daily safety checks on all equipment before use, confirming accordance with specific equipment requirements and maintain these records for 30 days.

The primary duties of the Night Shift Supervisor will strive to achieve the production and
distribution objectives of the company using supervisory methods and coaching techniques. Is
responsible for warehouse training, developing warehouse personnel to ensure accurate, on
time, and damage free movement of product shipped out of the warehouse. Will help build a
team environment of well-trained employees. Employ excellent communication skills to facilitate
completion of night shift job duties. Follow and promote the accepted safety practices to
maintain a safe working environment. Emphasis will be placed on proper truck loading and
breakage and damaged product control ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Position will also learn the processes and serve as a back up to the night managers in the areas
of shift production set up; understanding how to and executing on waving, label creation, job
assignment, invoicing, and other administrative tasks as needed to ensure successful night shift
work completion in the absence of the night shift Manager.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS
