Job Summary | The Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering (MANE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering. Job Summary | The Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of Quantum Computing, Quantum Information, and Quantum Technology, with focus on the fundamental aspects or applications of quantum computation, scalability, and error correction on current and future quantum computing devices. Research areas can include but not limited to quantum entanglement, decoherence, and noise in quantum networks, with applications to quantum cryptography, quantum encryption, and secure quantum communications in noisy environments. Possible related areas would also include studying and exploiting the fundamental connections between Quantum Monte Carlo and Quantum Computing, simulating quantum field theory and many-body theory with a quantum computer (in particular, simulating systems with a “sign” problem), quantum communication networks, exotic quantum dynamics, quantum sensing protocols, exotic quantum phases of matter, and theory on the nature of information at the quantum level. With the anticipated of arrival of the IBM Quantum System One on our campus, this hire will have access to explore and implement some of these challenging problems. This hire would be part of a bold effort at RPI to strengthen and extend our current faculty cluster in Quantum Information, and would interact with our current faculty on quantum optics and photon entanglement, quantum field-theory, quantum fluctuations in networks, as well as with researchers from Computer Science, ECSE, Future of Computing Institute, and with the future hires of the recently announced Quantum Constellation. The position also represents a response to federal priorities expressed in the National Quantum Initiative Act. The successful candidate will establish/maintain and externally funded research program, participate in collaborative, multi-investigator research and research training initiatives, and contribute to the high impact teaching program in the Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy. Postdoctoral research experience and a strong early record of publication in leading journals is preferred. As a Case Manager, Regional Permanency Resource Center you will provide supportive services and case management services to adoptive, guardianship and kinship families so they are able to make informed decisions with regards to services and supports that best meet their needs. You will report to the Case Manager Supervisor. You will work in a hybrid environment with some travel to client's homes in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Function as a systems navigator to families who have adopted or who have children in guardianship or kinship care through the provision of case management.
- Meet with families in their home to assess needs
- Assess needs, conduct service planning, service plan implementation, service coordination, monitoring and follow-up, reassessment and review with the family via in-home or community monthly visits. Services include but are not limited to information and referral services; referral to legal services; attendance at family court dates; transportation; housing assistance; childcare; basic family needs (vital needs in emergencies and with expenses that are unforeseen); educational advocacy services; and facilitating appointments with social services, medical health providers, and mental health services.
- Respond to the request for in home support referrals for resources and services
- Provide crisis intervention supports when needed
- Work with family to access needed respite services
- Conduct follow up contacts with families at prescribed intervals
- Participate in family engagement activities
- Co-lead support groups
- Participate in training programs offered by the program as assigned
- Use lived experience to empathize and provide hope. Preference for someone with experience with kinship, adoption or guardianship as a youth or in a parenting role.
- Maintain records including required data collection information according to the program standards and expectations. Case Managers must maintain Evolv record with progress notes and all pertinent documentation, a discharge summary and post-case closure documentation.
- Participate as a trainer in programs in the community, to increase understanding of the needs of families who have adopted or have children in guardianship or kinship care
- Complete risk assessments as required by Northern Rivers Quality Management Department

The Intensive Aftercare Prevention Program (IAPP) is looking for a Clinical Case Manager to work in a home and community-based program where employees work in a partnership. This position is working in Johnstown, NY and covering FultonCounty.
The Intensive Aftercare Prevention Program (IAPP) provides six to nine months of intensive services to families whose children are either at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. The goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement for troubled children, provide a safe environment to return children already in placement, and prevent future out-of-home placement.
What a Clinical Case Manager can expect:
- The Clinical Case Manager will develop treatment plans with families to assist with identifying and meeting their goals.
- Develop a psychosocial assessment. Connect with the youth’s family to monitor progress and support the family’s effort to keep the youth safe.
- Ensure the coordination of services with service providers and collaterals involved with the youth and his/her family.
- Complete paperwork properly and within agency, county, and state guidelines. Ability and willingness to do the job as changes arise.
