Job Summary | The Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering (MANE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering. POSITION OVERVIEW
School Based Clinician
The School Based Clinician is responsible for providing clinical services to youth and their families according to program and regulatory guidelines, ensuring that all services are strengths-based, individualized, and comprehensive according to need.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide clinical services to youth and their families as assigned.
- Participate in the integrated service planning process for all youths enrolled.
- Ensure all service plans are strengths-based, individualized, and comprehensive according to need.
- Monitor the effectiveness of integrated service plans and review.
- Ensure all service are coordinated with other service providers.
- Access supports in the School or in the community as indicated.
- Assist families as needed in accessing assessments and recommendations for psychotropic medication.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a Masters degree, MSW or equivalent.
- Experience, training, or education commensurate with working with children with serious and persistent emotional disturbance is desired.
- Experience with working in a school environment is preferred.
- Must be licensed prior to starting, or have an active limited permit. LMSW, LCSW, or LCSW-R preferred.
- Required to pass licensing exam within six months of employment if working with a limited permit.
- Drivers license is required.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will coordinate appropriate medical care, dental care, and mental health services nursing care/services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral and physical needs. You will ensure that medical treatment services meet the requirements of the regulating agency. You will report to a Registered Nurse and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Complete the nursing observations report findings to the registered nurse
- Review lab and test results, reporting critical values to RN and providers
- Medication management including ordering medications and obtaining prior authorizations
- Dispense medications
- Communicate with medical director/providers regarding observation in client’s health/behavior
- Provide client and family education regarding medications and treatments

Lecturer of Biomedical Engineering Position at Union College
The Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at Union College invites applications for a Lecturer of Biomedical Engineering position, beginning Fall 2024. The position is renewable with a contract period of three years. After six years of employment at Union, Lecturers are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer with the possibility of contract lengths up to five years. A Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates expecting to complete their doctoral thesis before September 2024 are also welcome to apply. We seek an individual who demonstrates a strong commitment to student-centered undergraduate education, including those with a professional interest in pedagogy. Service duties will include coordinating the Summer Clinical Immersion Program with our local partners, advising our Biomedical Engineering Society student chapter, and coordinating the biomedical engineering seminar series. Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $81,000 - $84,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. As an English /Language Arts Teacher, you will develop and implement the English/Language Arts classroom instructional plans for students. You will report to the principle and will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Provide subject area instruction (English/Language Arts) that follow the NYS K-12 English/Language Arts curricula and prepares students for exit examinations and statewide assessments.
- Develop and implement English/Language Arts instructional materials to provide individual and small group instruction to students of various ability levels. At the high school level develop lessons, teach, and prepare students for examinations in English/Language Arts.
- Develop and implement a classroom instructional plan with the Special Education Teacher that integrates the students IEP goals and objectives, learning style. as well as accommodations and modifications that are needed.
- Develop and implement with the Special Education Teacher, individual and classroom behavior plans for managing student behavior to maintain discipline in the Classroom; assist classroom staff with crisis prevention and intervention techniques; assist classroom with de-escalation techniques; teach students appropriate behavior strategies.
- Use the classroom PBIS universal plan and Tier 2 and 3 strategies for selected students.
- Manage and coordinate the safety and well-being of students through the use of established classroom and schoolwide processes and procedures; supervise classroom staff implementing these with their work with students throughout the building.
- Follow school and agency procedures and policies for reporting incidents. This includes behavior incident reports as well as incidents such as child/sexual abuse, substance abuse, harassment, bullying, and violence.
- Establish positive relationships with parents and family members to create a partnership around student treatment, student behavior, and academic progress.
- Participate in classroom grade level, and behavioral/treatment meetings as well as professional training and development sessions(e.g. TCI, CPR, emergency procedures and other agency requirements).
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.
- Provide leadership to assigned teacher assistants in various clerical and non-instructional duties as need for your classroom.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, clinicians, administrators, medical staff, and other school staff to provide integrated support, assistance, and treatment to students.
Requirements and Education:
- A Master's degree in Special Education or subject area and the ability to work with students who demonstrate serious emotional and behavioral challenges, ages 6-21. a Bachelor's degree with enrollment in a program that leads to a master's degree may be considered.
- A NYS certification in Special Education or subject area, or enrollment in a program that leads to a NYS teacher certification.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds
