About the Role:
As a full-time IT Services Technician I, you’ll troubleshoot technical issues, provide support, install new equipment, and ensure our clients’ IT, telephony and physical security infrastructure runs seamlessly. No day is the same, and you'll wear many hats, from tackling software glitches to configuring/installing networks, servers, cameras, access control and telephony equipment.

· Provide remote and/or onsite support to clients across various industries.
· Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
· Install, configure, and maintain IT, telephony, physical security systems and software.
· Document solutions and maintain clear communication with clients.
· Stay up to date on the latest IT, telephony, and physical security trends and technologies.
What We're Looking For:
· A minimum of two years of experience in IT support or a related field; or a degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
· Strong understanding of hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· A problem-solving mindset and a passion for learning.

General Summary:
The IT Systems Administrator I (Linux Systems) is responsible for administering, maintaining, monitoring, securing, backing up, and optimizing the Company's IT systems and infrastructure. The IT Systems Administrator I will participate in the configuration of IT systems through project-based initiatives and resolve escalated operational issues related to supported systems in at least one area of specialization: Microsoft Systems, Linux Systems, or Infrastructure/Platform Systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in problem resolution of assigned IT systems.
- Collaborate with other IT personnel on project-based initiatives to upgrade or enhance the performance of IT systems.
- Configuration and administration of assigned IT systems.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of assigned IT systems.
- Secure assigned IT systems.
- Ensure assigned IT systems are kept in compliance with company standards.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend solutions to IT systems or processes.
- Upgrade and maintain assigned IT systems, including server operating systems, various software applications, and the supporting platforms and infrastructure.
- Facilitate the Company's IT standards and interoperability with other systems by engaging with other technical staff and departments to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
- Develop tools and training to support operational staff.
- Write documentation for assigned IT systems and supporting processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of the Company's records and IT systems and processes.
- Participate in after-hours and on-call support on a rotational basis.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by Management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Intermediate level of knowledge and direct working experience in at least one of the following areas of specialization:
- Microsoft Server operating systems, Active Directory and supporting services (DNS, DHCP, IIS, etc.), Office365/Azure/Entra ID, MSSQL, and client/server applications.
- Linux Server operating systems (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, etc.), open-source systems including Postfix and Dovecot, system automation platforms (Rundeck, Ansible, etc.), common database applications such as MySQL, back-end development (PHP, Perl, Golang, Python, etc.), and RESTful API design principles and methods.
- VMware (vCenter, ESXI, etc.), server hardware, iSCSI SAN technologies, datacenter and office networking, and firewalls
- Intermediate knowledge of networking technologies and protocols, including IP Routing and Ethernet Switching.
- Intermediate Knowledge of backup solutions and techniques.
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Company products and services.
- Ability to dissect and solve problems and make sound judgment calls.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate MS Office productivity applications and office equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documentation.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to learn new skills and technologies to accomplish the goals of the company.
- Must be organized with attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a rapidly changing technical environment.
- Ability to effectively function as a team player and to project a positive attitude. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Education and/or Experience:
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and 1 year of experience in IT Systems Administration or related IT job; or 3 years of direct transferrable experience working in IT Systems or related IT job.
- Must have direct experience with systems in area of specialization.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must have or be able to obtain a core certification in a given specialization within one year (Microsoft systems, Linux systems, Virtualization platforms, etc.). Certification status is expected to be maintained.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid South Dakota driver's license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy.
Other Qualifications and/or Credentials:
- Knowledge of the ITL 4 framework is preferred.
- Knowledge of the NIST cybersecurity framework is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Good working conditions with the absence of disagreeable conditions. Climate controlled building with adequate lighting and space. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
