POSITION OVERVIEW
Our Maintenance Workers take pride in preventative maintenance, repairing of buildings, grounds and equipment. You would beworkingfrom 7:30amto 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, or as needed for snow removal.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for removal of snow on property.
- Perform tasks related to maintenance slips and project work, will be available for off hours work such as snow removal and other emergencies and are willing to work irregular hours as needed.
- Assume primary responsibility for the maintenance of a specific Agency building, or for the provision of a specific Department function (e.g. automotive or grounds).
- Perform repairs to plumbing, electric wiring, furniture, doors and windows, hardware, varied mechanical equipment, machinery, install shelves, new hardware and do skilled painting.
- Inspectproperty to ascertain safety and repair needs.
- Order repair parts.
- Perform specialized tasks related to one or more of the standard building trades, or perform automotive maintenance on Agency vehicles along with performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Building and Grounds.
Education and/or Experience
- HS diploma preferred.
- Training certification in skilled trades desired.
- Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.One year's experience in one of the recognized skilled trades or two years of experience in either general buildingconstruction or automotive maintenance.
- Must be able to use the tools, equipment and materials of the building and grounds department, and to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.

The Lake Placid Lodge is looking for maintenance representatives to make our guests feel welcome and ensure their pleasant and comfortable stay at our hotel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the facilities during all seasons in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
- Perform electrical work. For example: Replace light switches, Reset circuit breakers, Replace wall plug receptacles, Replace fluorescent light ballast, Replace electrical solenoid valves, Replace small motors
- Perform basic plumbing work. For example: Clear clogged sinks, toilets, garbage disposals and drain lines, Repair or replace valves, Replace washer, gaskets, vacuum breakers, toilet seals,

Requirements:
- 1 year previous experience.
- Certification or completion of specialized training program (electrician, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
- Basic carpentry skills
- Excellent communication skills to adequately interact with clients
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and ability to reliably commute to Lake Placid
- Provide legible communication and directions.
- Working knowledge of:
- health codes

- national/local fire codes
- local mechanical codes
- blue prints and wiring schematics
- power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades
- Ability to:

Responsible for all aspects of the maintenance and grounds departments; including the proper operation, maintenance and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration and mechanical equipment. QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree or trade school course work in related field preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the day to day operations of the maintenance, grounds and marina departments
- Primary contact to communicate and coordinate work from other departments
- Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards
- Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repair on a daily basis.
- Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Oversee all vendors and outside contractors who service the building.
- Maintain all grounds, sidewalks and all exterior walkways of the buildings.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment on a regular basis.
- Keep the MSDS safety data sheets up to date and follow OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain all preventative maintenance files, records, logs and service manuals.
- Perform daily walk-through inspections to verify equipment operating preventatives.
- Inspect facilities and equipment to determine need and extent of service, equipment required and type of operation and maintenance personnel needed.
- Adheres to all fire, safety, and security procedures according to property policies.
